When the first UMPCs came out Microsoft began to talk about "Mobile Windows". Unfortunately they never addressed the relationship between "Mobile Windows" and "Windows Mobile" - I don't think the teams even talked to each other. "Mobile Windows" needs to be optimized for X86 architectures with a small footprint while "Windows Mobile" is optimized for ARM. They need to play together, and customers need to understand where each fits in their usage models.
I'll be interested in your views on how to optimize "Mobile Windows".

The 3M device is the lowest quality of the class of devices about to hit market. It is not good enough. I'll wait for the units that use DLP or lasers for better quality images.
A lot of them will be, as you say, used with laptops. However, the target market is cell phones with UMPCs and NetBooks as secondary markets.
