It was a simple task, and to be honest the in-game instructions don't explain everything properly anyway. I'm visually impaired, with very limited depth perception. I can get a semblance of effect occasionally, but it takes a lot of effort and actually detracts from gameplay.

Re: 'XCOM: Enemy Unknown' Hits the App Store This Thursday for $19.99

You still have more choice over what you do with your apps than you do with a PS+ free download.

Re: Xseed Release Android Mobile RPG “Ark of the Ages”

Actually, I haven't even been playing much more than an hour and I've already got a level 30-something character. Once I made it to 3F in the first dungeon, I started getting levels every one or two fights. Now it takes a couple more but it's still fast levelling. As for the movement controls, the virtual d-pad is only for walking around, and it doesn't require twitch skills at all as far as I've played. All the combat is is swiping the screen. The only skill that you need to have for combat is knowing when to guard; the rest has basically boiled down to "scribbling" on the enemy with my finger as fast as possible. Pretty fun for a little $1.99 game, and a great first release.

Re: PS Vita finally gets a price cut in Japan
Sony... - Tiny Cartridge - Nintendo 3DS, DS, Wii U, and PS Vita News, Media, Comics, & Retro Junk

Well, at least that's something. I just wish Sony had thought out the Western launch better: Things like making sure there was a steady stream of games throughout the following months (i.e. the summer, which tends to be a lull in game releases--really bad for a system just out the gate a couple months prior), and actually touting their new system more in conference presentations like E3 (Their big show consisted of 95% PS3 titles, and the rest spread out between the Instant Game Collection and Vita, whereas Nintendo did a second show to showcase the 3DS and get people hyped for the upcoming stuff with it). It's rather sad, in my opinion. The Vita has a lot of untapped potential, but because of the way Sony went about it the system is doing much worse than it could be. Just my two cents though.

Re: Persona 4 Golden Giveaway

It's really hard to find a favorite Persona moment. I couldn't get into 1 or 2, and I have come close-ish to completing 3. From what I have played (and not what I *know* due to spoilers, I would have to say my favorite moment of Persona 3 would be emergence of P3 Main Character's persona. I remember that being one of the numerous "Holy crap" moments I've had.

Re: When An Inch is a Mile: Gaming With Disabilities

This is a really good article! As a visually impaired gamer, I fully understand where this article is coming from. I have rather poor reflexes, and things in a lot of games have to be pointed out to me if they're not clearly marked because I just can't see them. I tend to do poorly in FPS games (though I still try, mind you, much to the amusement of people I'm up against if I try to play in a competitive mode), I can't keep up with the average RTS player (so I tend to turtle) and I tend to not see health bars very well because my nearsightedness makes me pretty much put my face in the screen, creating a tunnel vision effect. I still try to branch out into genres I'm uncomfortable with, though. I quite enjoy action-platformers, scrolling shooters (even the bullet hell variety) and rhythm games (on normal difficulty). And of course there are my comfortable genres: RPGs, turn-based strategy games, puzzle games and the like.

As a result of my low vision, any kind of assistance when it comes to visual cues (i.e. larger button displays for QTEs, beeps or screen tints for low-health warnings, audio cues for exact-timing events) really help me out, and is greatly appreciated. And thankfully, at least in the vision department, developers are understanding. The loot indicators in TOR are impossible to miss. PSO2 (even in alpha-2) not only has edge-of-screen tinting when your health is below 50%, but also beeps at you when your health is below a SECOND threshold. It makes playing those kinds of games so much easier for me, as it removes some of the requirements of vision while keeping things as close to normal as possible. I still tend to avoid competitive versus gameplay, though, as expecting me to see the enemy soldier or what-have-you popping out from around a corner in time to score a kill is like flipping a coin.

Re: A Few More Details On Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s “Missing Link” DLC

Might want to point out, 250 achievement POINTS and 10 trophies. I had to read that a couple times to notice that. It's probably 250 points spread out amongst 10 achievements.

Re: Contest: We have 2 Cladun X2 PSN voucher codes to giveaway!

This looks interesting, and it's for a game that I'm really looking forward to!
So time to put in my entry.

My character, Vaera, is an elf-like girl with purple hair (which has a slight blue tint to it). She has green eyes and tends to wear bright blue and yellow clothing. She is a wizard-class character with a mysteriously glowing staff. While it's not really pertinent to Cladun x2, she has a rather cheerful personality, but has the tendency to be a little overconfident. I'd post an image, but the only images I have of the character are from the character I created in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, and therefore probably wouldn't qualify. The character concept is my own, however.

Re: An update is coming tomorrow

Hey, cool. I can't argue against an intelligently put-together response like that. In the end, you're right that it doesn't monetarily hurt anyone (though it does infringe upon his rights as the developer). All it really boils down to, at least as I see it, is "It shouldn't be done because it's the creator's wish that it not be done."

On a similar (but not quite the same) note, take a look at the new menu item in the update he released yesterday. He DOES plan to allow modding, just not in the way everyone's doing things now. At least as I see it. That might bring some hope to a community that seems to be frothing from the mouth over his public statement of his stance on the matter.

Re: An update is coming tomorrow

That may be true, but paying for something doesn't give you the right to reverse-engineer it.
He could have withheld the game until it was finished and just started the price at 20 euros rather than giving us the chance to play it early if we paid half that. That's what I mean by lucky. He never had to do any of it. Sure the money wouldn't be coming in yet but the point is that we're privileged to be able to play at all. People should be grateful that we have an amazing game to play and explore in, rather than complaining because he doesn't want people to illegally modify his work (and doing it anyway).

Re: An update is coming tomorrow

There's a big PROBLEM though. Mods aren't officially supported yet. Maybe when the game is actually in beta (or at release) there may very well be official support. Until then, though, modifying the game is, as he said, a legal gray area. Some of the mods do sound really cool, but when they're violating HIS rights as a developer, things are going too far. People need to understand that it's not all about them and that he's still working on the game. And as for the argument that Starcraft and Warcraft support modding, those are projects with official modding support and tools. Blizzard released those tools with a complete commercial product; people didn't get the things they wanted by hacking at the code like axe murderers in an amusement park. We should be lucky Notch gave us the ability to play at all when the game is still so early in development.

Re: An update is coming tomorrow

Then you'll be frowning at me as well, because I agree with Notch. Until mods are OFFICIALLY supported, the modding that's being done is reverse-engineering of his code, and at least stateside is punishable under the DMCA.

Re: Colemak

Hey there!
