Interesting, I would disagree. The engine is always smooth at 400hp, and it definitely does hold the 400hp if you run the electric range to zero. It is a luxury car, so the quiet engine I think works well. The SDv6 diesel is around or less than 300 hp, so 400hp and a quiet engine has its selling point.

Once the electric range runs out, the battery still works along side the petrol engine, so you always have just short of 400HP. Thats guaranteed for the first 8 years or so I think.

What a completely ridiculous article - all the deposits vary massively so how are these comparable? A Lamborghini can be less than £200 per month with a £150,000 deposit, why isn't one of those in there?

SVR is also quickest around the Nurburgring at the moment, but of course other circuits may suit the Porsche better. Depreciation is interesting, considering regular Sports have been out nearly 2 years now and fetching near on list price.

Wow, you again. the +2 seats can be up or down. They designed it this way to appeal to a wider audience who may want a smaller car that can on occasion accomodate extra passengers. No other cars like this offer that.

Lots of cars are based on existing platforms, doesn't mean that this is a Freelander 3 in disguise. Freelander 2 have ceased production, this is something they are making instead. There was never a 5+2 version of Freelander hence no equivalent model.
Its coming out to compete in a different market than the Freelander.

I think the 9" interactive screen is great, but the rest of the interior isn't anything new, or exciting!

Evoque screams prestige on the interior, where as DSport is more family friendly. And the extra seats too.

The engine is essentially from the Freelander 2 and Evoque, which both have great reliability records. 7 or 8 years ago+ then your comment would be more valid.

Equivalent model? Its a brand new car. Its not 'the next freelander' its just a new car. And it has one of the biggest boots in class when the rear seats are folded down. I saw it at the Tigers game too.

One of Land Rover's big appeals is how Iconic they look, and how they are instantly recognisable as a Land Rover. They should all share DNA as they are all part of the Land Rover brand, but have their own distinct features. It could be worse, they could all of gone with how Audi went...!

1) They are much more reliable than they used to be; 2) The Dealers are now among the best rated in the industry, just look at the latest JD Power surveys 3) Residuals are some of the strongest on the market, with a typical residual value of 55% after 3 years.
Approx 50% of LR owners have taken their cars off road, and there is no need for a tyre change for off road, as proven by all the LR Experience centres across the UK.
Your comments would of made sense 7 years ago, but things are much better now! Hence JLR's massive success in the past few years.
