Amazon Linux AMI is RPM based. That is why you were unable to find apt-get. The equivalent is the "yum" command. You can install apache on Amazon Linux AMI via the following command:

"sudo yum install httpd"

Python should be installed by default.

PHP can be installed with "sudo yum install php"

You can view the list of available packages on Amazon Linux AMI by doing a "sudo yum list all"

Reminds me of the quote by Fred Wilson, "don't be google bitch, don't be fb.., don't be twitter bitch" and I have seen stocktwits rise above twitter long time back. I personally feel twitter is getting screwed internally to innovate and all they can do is a copy paste of existing things built on "twitter API".

Good luck to the stock wits team and if you can do sue them ;)

DDG - is 95% of the time good for any search. I have been using it for quite some time now and have used google only a very few time that too for very deep searches.

Why instapad

This part was simple enough, I have been writing for a long time now and I have been user of wordpress, tumblr, google document....many many tools. I always hated the fact that all these tool started nice and easy but as time passed became very "feature rich" implying heavy. Second reason if I or anyone wants to express my views with anonymity it was impossible where facebook and google don't allow throw away accounts. Third reason was the fact that I recently got hooked on my iPad and didn't fine any decent tools to write on it for free. finally I like the concept of instant publishing and I built it.

So to summarize instapad can be used for

write on ipad(free)
publish essays
create pages for upcoming events
share code snippets
rant anonymously
share recipes, quotes, etc quickly
archive some text in case the original page may go away
probably anything which requires you to share some text, images and links
instapad does not record any information about you at any time.

I side with Neha on this. She is a good entrepreneur and a patience person. Our interview experience her was extremely smooth. I would suggest "journalist " to step back breathe and give people time to response. And I must also add in my humble opinion, asking people about their business is a privilege not a right.
