No. I like my Windows Phone. I don't want any Google or Apple sync problems, haven't had any in years. But articles like this, giving Windows news and insulting Windows users that read the new, are just plain rude.

I upgraded from the SP3 to SP$ for a different reason. I don't play a lot of games, and this isn't a gaming machine. Civilization IV will slow down dramatically on the SP3 due to the thermal throttling after an hour or two. I haven't tried yet on the SP4, but the liquid cooling and better processor should help.

Actually, the screen is not 9% larger on the 950XL. That's just the corner-to-corner dimension, or the hypotenuse of a triangle. It's a fairly simple geometry problem to find the screen area for each phone and then determine the percentage increase, but it's not as simple as 5.7/5.2.

I think you need to mention the GPU as a differentiator. The Surface Book with GPU would provide a better gaming experience. Also, when the screen is separated from the keyboard, the Book tablet only has 3 hours of batter life.

I'd love a successor to my 1020, but I don't think it's coming. If the new 950s have Continuum and Munchkins and a 20mpix camera, I'll upgrade because my 1020 camera is getting slow. It sure takes great pictures, though.

Just switched to the slow ring. The fast ring seemed more functional recently, but now that the big push is behind, slow ring should be sufficient. I like new software stuff.

That's the direction Microsoft seems to be going. On my Windows 8.1 Surface, I use "Search" more than anything now, and it behaves almost exactly as you describe. On my Windows Phone, Cortana does much of that via voice or typing. It's not perfect, but it's headed that way. Windows 10 expands Cortana (voice and/or typing) on both the laptop / tablet / phone.
