Good post.
I used to always head straight for the ranged dps classes in MMOs, preferably not spellcasters.
Recently I have been getting much more into the melee/tank thing.
It's interesting that most people go for their favorite "type of class" such as melee dps or tank.
It says that tehre isn't enough variety in today's MMOs that people choose different classes because of thier mechanics as opposed to the fact that they wear plate armour.

Yeah, its pretty bad at the moment, but the trolls have fairly short attention spans, and since the leveling in AO is much slower then WoW I doubt its going to last too long. At least once your out of the starting zone, nearly all of the spam disappears.

You forgot to mention everyone arguing over which MMO came first. Allods copied WoW. WoW copied EQ2. EQ2 is better then WoW. WoW is the best. EQ2 sucks and copied UO.
And I did notice that the Empire start was extremely similar to CoS, that's not a bad thing because both of them are done really well. :P
