The business bean counters are usually pretty good at picking up on this....or maybe they won't have a choice. If it's a 'business' account you automatically get tagged the extra $15.

Re: iPhone Enterprise Data Plan

Yep. That would be a good way to choke off the people like me who are trying to hunt for a used 1st Gen iPhone to use on T-Mobile. By requiring a 3G data plan and joining ATT to get that feature it would freeze out 3rd parties pretty well. Still wondering where the iPod touch will fall amongst all of this.

Re: iPhone Enterprise Data Plan

Hi ... been following this topic pretty closely (thanks for posting on my blog at superstitionist.com). I was sitting here bummed about the extortion of Exchange users and then started wondering about the iPod Touch. If it's allegedly getting the same 2.0 software how do they prevent Exchange? They certainly haven't charged any fees for that device so far. Makes you wonder if they'll yank Exchange support from that device. Guess we'll know for certain when the first people get the 3G phone in their hands.

Just a quick comment regarding 'Christina' from TUAW. I think she sounds confused by saying that the enterprise plan 'sets up the server'. Either your corporate Exchange server is configured for ActiveSync or its not. Nothing ATT can do will change that so I hope she meant somethinkg like the enterprise plan will enable the feature on your phone or something. Hopefully we can count on the enterpeneurial spirit of the unofficial iPhone software community to come up with a workaround :-)
