What's not being mentioned is that Type 1 is generally an auto-immune disorder, so patients such as myself would face having to take a regimen of anti-rejection drugs for this therapy to remain effective. That would hold true no matter the source of the stem cells. Not sure that's a good tradeoff.

It was part of a recommendation that children AND adults get off of their dupas and get some exercise as a way to fight obesity (which, politics aside, is a huge contributing factor to all sorts of health problems). It most certainly wasn't a mandate!

Having read all of your letters to the editor I personally recommend that you walk approximately two miles a day; within a month you'll be 60 miles away.

Being a long-time boat owner who keeps his vessel on a mooring in the river I fully agree with Harbormaster Pike's actions during Hurricane Irene.

The Salisbury Harbormaster department removed their equipment from harm's way while keeping it available to be launched at short notice should an emergency arrive. It's difficult if not impossible to imagine a more responsible course of action.
