I watched the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations yesterday. A few minutes from the very end, Rep. Griffith (R-VA) asked whether cases admitted using THC. Tilson of NC Dept. of Health said 75% admitted using THC. "Are there any other analyses that would increase the accuracy of the reporting?" Griffith asked. Tilson says they're testing the devices. [Previously she admitted that 94% of the 16 cases they interviewed admitted using THC.]

NOTE: NOTHING EVER CAME UP ABOUT A URINE SCREEN FOR THC !!!

Also, the idea that FDA is not as guilty as the CDC is false. Schuchat and Sharpless both asserted in the first panel of this hearing that their recommendations are the same, with "no daylight" between them, meaning that the worst scum are in the driver's seat. [1:34]

Research on the role of infection in COPD is almost nonexistent. Most of that which exists is focused on trying to find some way of implicating smoking in adenovirus infection. It can be safely assumed that this is where the money is to be found.
