You do realize in 1969 it was almost all mechanical? This is for adding permanent bases not just staying for a few days. Also if you have worked with anything nuclear you would understand all the regulations and safety precautions around that where you could expect a brand new project that is going to the moon and all the requirements around that taking 6 years.

In previous articles it's been mentioned that at least initially these will only be used during conventions and all will have drivers. Hopefully that doesn't last long because that defeats a lot of the purpose in my opinion.

I'm not going to make any claims about water shortage I think we can probably get around that one but to deny the incredible speed of the world population growth is just ridiculous. Are all these countries lying about their population in a global scam?

World population was 6.12b in 2000, 6.51b in 2005, and 6.81b in 2010. It's estimated to climb to 7.32b in 2015 and 7.71b in 2020.

The 20 years bit in context was talking about finding life in our galaxy. He mentioned that besides mars there are at least another half dozen possible locations of life. They're not talking about intelligent life within that period.

What I'm interested in is knowing how the Carmike Cinema they're building downtown is going to be LEED certified (granted I know very little on how you get this). But a movie theatre I would think would be insanely hard to be efficient. They just seem like they would be a huge power consumer to me.

I'm only bringing this up because I noticed today that they had a banner that said they were going to be LEED certified.
