That can be said for every political party when you play mental gymnastics. You are conflating the votes of separate political parties, different platforms that ran against each other and suggest our FPTP is not tenable.
The same deeply flawed logic can be applied to the Liberals or the NDP.

I would not categorize them as "haters" per se. Some are low information voters, some may be directly employed by the government. Undeclared self-interest may be the overriding factor in their posts or ideology for increased government spending.

Pointing out in 2010 Rob won 47% pop vs John Tory 40% pop are FACTS, not an opinion.
Pointing out in 2010 Rob did not win in "Old City of Toronto" but won a clear majority in every other ward is not an opinion. John Tory did much better than Smitherman in total vote count but if you compare WARD vs WARD Doug Ford did very well with twenty wards. He did not carry two WARDS as suggested by our LAZY mainstream media.

Is Rob Ford responsible if City Council councillors voted to NOT support his agenda in 2012-2014 and increase spending?

Will you also use the apply the same logic if the City Council rejects the John Tory agenda and vote to increase taxes? If they decide against "Smart Track" and it takes an additional three years and doubles in costs from his campaign will you apply "liar and fraud" to him?

All politicians across all parties at every level make claims which are unsupportable and applying your labels is not without a deep bias against the Fords.

I wish our new Mayoral to be successful in delivering on his campaign promises.

John Tory in his campaign platform did share many similarities with Doug Ford. Support for Subway for Scarborough. Outsourcing the garbage east of Yonge. He also want to reduce the layers of duplication and eliminate waste with efficiency inside the City.
Those are three significant policies that they share in common.

How do you suggest linking Tory votes to Chow? Chow and Tory did not share a similar platform. Left leaning Liberal, NDP candidates Smitherman-Pantalone were much more closely aligned politically.

You are ignoring the results in 2010 Smitherman's message resonated inside the "Old City of Toronto". John Tory expanded his support outside the Old City of Toronto but did NOT deliver ACROSS the WARDS popular support that Rob Ford did in 2010. (FACT)

Looking at the results in several wards your "..home patch and Scarborough" opinion reflect your willful ignorance on ACTUAL FACTS.

Twenty wards (20 wards) can not be reduced to "...home patch and Scarborough". Ward 7,9,11,12,15,17 are clear victories for Doug. Ignoring the ACTUAL results in these SIX wards reflect your cognitive dissonance.

In whose platform did a politician promise "overall" spending would be reduced?

Eliminating waste, duplication is something all three candidates campaigned on in 2014. Do you support continuing the unnecessary layers of management at City Hall? Do you support the RETURN of frivolous spending in office budgets at the councillor level, expenses from the David Miller era?

Revisit the campaign promises in 2010 by Rob Ford to judge his track record and what he actually delivered. City council voted in favour of his platform. Vehicle tax gone, TTC classified as an essential service. Labour peace (ex-Library shutdown for a few days) was delivered in the last session at City Hall.

Do you miss those TTC, garbage strikes?

Voters in 2010 gave Rob Ford 47% pop win against Smitherman, Pantalone. In 2014 voters gave John Tory a 40% pop win against Doug Ford and Olivia Chow.

In both contests the mainstream media was clearly against the Ford campaign and loved to point out "personal" faults in their past.

Looking at their "legislative" track record voters have returned Rob Ford to his previous position as councillor for his ward.

On mass transit, it will interesting to watch how the Smart Track is embraced and paid for by all three levels of Government who draw taxes from the same taxpayers (Corporation and individuals).

John Tory ran the smoothest campaign with the mainstream media in his pocket.

I predicted the special interest media buy, tabloid media election coverage would sink the Conservatives in Ontario. The same thing took place in BC, AB.

Liberal Reality

Liberal cheerleaders, sockpuppets will BELIEVE wholeheartedly their leader will make large masses of voters switch, return to their party because JT (insert your moral judgement) and Red Book promises 4.0. (Martin, Dion, Ignatieff )

I don't accept that as FACT the current government is more dictatorial,that hidden agenda stuff, army in the streets was just plain silly.

Liberals have adopted the US Democrat play card War on Women introduce abortion under threat when none exists. Decry millions in jail for lighting up a joint when NO prisons have BEEN built.

FACTS don't support the Liberal-NDP hysteria. It is alright to pretend they matter to the majority when they are NOT paying attention.

Campaigns matter both Mulcair and JT have NEVER been tested. Anything can happen and anyone can stumble.

I don't care if our PM made a statement that I don't agree with in 2004. I can point to many instances when I don't agree with the current government. Bailout of GM and Chrysler. Income splitting as proposed.

I don't expect reasonable voters will applaud or support EVERYTHING of their elected government. I would prefer the Fed return to their Constitutional power and stop meddling into Provincial jurisdictions.

Allow the provinces to fund, tax accordingly the costs of services for healthcare, education etc.

Note to apologists everything LIBERAL, politicians of ALL political stripes are hypocrites from time to time. Voters get to pass judgement on those hypocritical actions.

Reasonable Canadians can look back at the 2011 elections that delivered the CPC with a majority and punished the opposition parties.

You don't have to LIKE the results and the worst defeat of your LIBERALS since confederation. It won't matter the Liberal brand has not recovered as TESTED in a GENERAL election.

You can like the majority of sockpuppets for Liberals point to public polls as evidence.

"Shiny-pony" no substance, inarticulate are some criticisms that have been used by both the Conservatives and the NDP. Will they stick, not sure.

JT has done an excellent job in restoring the funding donations to the party. The rest is too early to predict what voters will do. Time will tell if the latest pick was another mistake.

If the opposition parties slammed Martin for USING that surplus how do you suggest with a straight face than BLAME the elected Government that followed?

You are confused. It was done by the Liberals as EI, Pensions were put into the general revenue accounts of Government.

The Government has now changed it and can no longer put those funds into general revenues.

Canada along with many nations (after G8-G20 consultations) agreed to massive stimulus during the Global recession. Many nations are now talking about repeating the same level spending as it appears the Eurozone is sliding back into a recession. BRICS are slowing down as well.

Canada is NOT immune to the global slowdown. We have fared better than many of the G8. (Do your own research)

The opposition want it BOTH ways as you do. Spend more to fix (insert your agenda) and lower the debt by raising taxes on those wealthy people and evil corporations especially those "oil, banking types.

Socialism, global warming wealth redistribution, income equality (dog whistle) are not vote winners in 2015. Wait for it!
