"the chances of arrest are high" is utter BS. DHS has NO CLUE how many are crossing and they rarely catch anyone. The cameras on Border Invasion Pics rarely caught BP agents... and they were usually a day late.
This is not necessarily the fault of the agents as BP management does everything it can to impede them, and I've talked to enough agents to know they are often told not to pursue. Being a BP agent has become "just another goverment job".
Yes, it's true they often pay thousands to coyotes to guide them across. Not too many people I know could come up with that much money, so the mantra that "they're just poor people looking for a better life" doesn't fly with me.

Sorry, pal.. I live in her district. Reasonable... rational... hmpf!! Lying political hypocrite better describes her... then and now. She'd smooch up to anyone to get their vote... making promises she never kept. If she'd run again, she would have lost. Her successor, one of her aids who was also shot, won on the "sympathy" vote. He, too, is useless and hopefully will be gone in 2014.

BP agents rarely interdict... people or drugs. As someone who lives along the border, I actually see illegals. And their numbers are increasing. Have you ever looked at http://www.borderinvasionpi... ? Most of those videos were taken near me. Nothing has changed.

SUCH A LIAR!! I live on the border. You can find more agents at the BP check points (only when the weather is nice... at the first drop of rain they go home) than you can along the border road. As a hiker, I've run into many, many illegals. I've witnessed drug loads. Only twice have I seen BP agents, and they were only about 5 minutes away from the parking lot... sounding like a herd of buffalo crashing through the underbrush. Claiming that 61% are intercepted is total BS. The BORDER PATROL MANAGEMENT FUDGES THE NUMBERS. An agent may spot 15 aliens and catch 3. The other 12 that got away may not be reported by management.
