How is it compared with Tokyo Gore Police? It's one of my favourite gore films of all time (and also probably in my top 10 favourite films) but I've been rather disappointed with the latest wave of Japanese gore films: Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl, Robogeisha, Mutant Girls Squad, Aliens vs Ninjas, etc. While TGP definitely was pretty silly and ridiculous, it took itself seriously enough to make it a good film and reminded me a lot of Robocop and Starship Troopers. Also, CG gore is AWFUL.

I came this close to buy Ni no Kuni when I was in Japan a couple of weeks ago but my bag of games was already full so I passed. The book looks amazing and the music is absolutely sublime. I'll probably end up ordering it on NCSX or something, along with The Last Story. I'll wait a few months since I guess there's still hope that we'll get a domestic release.

That was the whole theme of the game (The World Ends With You). I'm with Tsunayoshi Sawada on this, I loved the soundtrack, very refreshing, different, catchy and good!

Is it just me or was the game really easy? I usually suck at fighting games but managed to beat the demo (using Christie) quite easily. I suppose they just set the game at the easiest difficulty level for the event.

As for the 3D, I usually turn it down to about 2/3 for most games; it might have something to do with the distance at which I hold the 3DS from my eyes. I only had trouble with PilotWings though, the 3D didn't seem to work at all.

Sorry dude, the Saturn pad is much better than the DualShock for shmups. Everyone knows that (everyone knows how terrible the Xbox 360 controller's d-pad is, though, I'll give you that).

On topic: the game looks crazy awesome. If only I had time to play games, I'd get a 360...

There's a short movie that sort of explains what happens between NHM1 and 2 (I think anyway... I need to find good subs, my Japanese sucks). There's also a kind of fast-forward of NMH1's storyline showing Travis defeating each boss. There's 1 more thing but I forgot. If you're a fan of the No More Heores franchise it's well worth it in my opinion. I don't regret my purchase at all. Should be receiving Super Mario Collection Special Pack pretty soon now. :)

EDIT: Oh also, forgot to add. There's a small artbook included in the NMH2 Hopper's Edition package with a photo of Suda51 which says "NO MORE HEROES NOT DEAD". Oh yeah!

Hopefully they will be releasing disc-based games in North America as well, not only in Japan. I prefer physical copies by far, if only for the collection.

But seriously, I should think that most North American gamers who are interested in Japanese games (including shmups) have bought a PS3 (way) before they bought an Xbox 360, if they even own one. (Japanese Xbox 360s don't count!)

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I love Guwange and all but I would have preferred a retail copy of the game. I have no incentive to buy a downloadable game if it's already available elsewhere (in this case, MAME + Guwange ROM). Plus, I don't care about leader boards, achievements, etc. Oh well, that's a start I guess.

Am I the only one who's not interested in 3D at all? I'm all for a new Nintendo handheld but it'll have to be much more than just a DS with a 3D screen to impress me. Look at Avatar; it was complete shit and so was the 3D (although everybody seems to be going bananas over it?!)

Yeah, I've been watching the NCSX page 10 times a day for about a month now. I bought the first copy right away at noon on shopncsx.com (with shipping to Canada, it came out at $170, yikes!) then I checked Play-Asia just to see and they had it for about $110 (seems to be sold out there as well though...)
