Although the Freethought Association is nothing but a bunch of sad non-believing busy-bodies, they have every right to display this billboard. This is precisely the kiind of speech protected by the Constitution.

Maybe one day the religious zealots who like to INFLICT their religious views on everyone will realize there is no Constitutional right to not be offended. Also maybe one day the followers of Atheist dogma such as the Freethough folks will realize that it is "Freedom OF religion" not "Freedom FROM religion."

Both sides are the same. A bunch of pompous "better-than-yous" who think they are always right and will never have any respect for anyone. Including themselves.

More silly policies hit the education system. A students grades should be taken into account before any involvement of the courts or law enforcement. If the student is tardy often or has an excess of absences but is still keeping up, leave them alone.

This is nothing but an attempt to maintain or increase funding that is based upon student enrollment and attendance.

The county commission is out of line and totally in the wrong. The deed to this property should have been turned over to Lincoln weeks ago. Talladega and the County have absolutely no claim to this property and are just acting like bratty little children who didn't get there way.

The only groups who have authority to take any action other than grandstanding and filing paper work are ADEM and the EPA. All the City and County have the authority to do is talk and file suits. Of those options one is cheap and the other is very, very expensive.

I'm sorry but I am definitely not confused. As for a black-eye on Alabama, probably so, but, as also with black-eyes on our nation, why should we the people give a flying rat's backside what other states may think of us or what other countries may think of ours? You might say this is an arrogant statement..It is not. We are the best state in the country in spite of those we elect, ie Spencer Bachus, Artur Davis, Bob Riley, Larry Langford, etc. And we are absolutely the greatest country in the world.

As for social security, medicare and medicade, Yes indeed they are all socialist type programs. No the recipients are not socialist sympathizers. Social Security and Medicare are forced upon us wether we want to take part in them or not. That is just plain wrong, and medicaide is for those who cannot provide for themselves due to young age or infirmity. People who participate in these programs are not socialsit sypathizers as you asked.

I've heard more than one person who are avowed socialist's say that the Anniston star is the closest thing to a Socialist newspaper there is that does not have "socialist" in it's title. But they do have the star. Maybe soon they'll add the hammer and sickle.

Alas Mr. Bachus did not have to say anything. Everyone knows it anyway. He was just stating the obvious and I think his number was a bit low.
