My PC is Win7. I have used Combofix since XP. My problem with it is that I was not offered options as to what settings to change or what to permanently delete. I needed to rescue from backups. I needed to reinstall some programs, including two browsers.

It took me a day and a half to put my PC back into shape after I used the last version of Combofix. I told my wife if I ever mentioned using it again she should tie me to the trailer hitch on our car and threaten to back over me.

I use this on 2 computers and ave been extremely happy with it. It is in constant development, which means frequent updates and improvements. The author also responds to problems and suggesttions in a timely fasion.

I have no idea what might be installed in the boot manager. I have not done anything with it. The MBR itself did not require repair. Yes, the problem likely was a conflict.

I spent a few hours restoring my PC when this software removed the boot manager and Windows 7 would not even begin to load. I removed Reboot Restor RX ASAP.

@Justinlolji But no other security software detected this problem? I use Maxthon all the time and have never had such a problem. Your Avast notice seems like a false positive to me.

I am about to return my second Ryobi 4 cycle 2 wheel trimmer. It is an excellent product so long as it works. Which was about an hour in both cases. After that it won't start, even a day later. This product is a disgrace to the Ryobi name.

Thanks. This time it worked. Everything I tried yesterday, including from other sources, offered extra baggage. This time the "Direct Download" gave me a clean install.

I will not download from Filehippo any more because of the requirements of its downloader. For one thing, the installers never work on my Win7SP1 no matter if I agree to install the PUP software or not. I will not touch any software that requires a downloader.

Lance Armstarong pissed someone important off mightily. Now he must pay for it. Whatever good he has done, whatever glory he brought to the US and to cycling and to in dividual sports in general matters not when revenge is the motivation.

I gave up on this version and restored the previous version. Orbit is great, but this version was too buggy and undependable on IE.

Installed Miro, found most programs unavailable in my country, uninstalled Miro. I have better software to view videos.

My apologies for my previous post. Though I use Online Armor as my firewall on three computers and am very pleased with it's performance, my comment referred to the most recent version of Avast! anti-virus, not to Online Armor. I use Avast! on my "third" computer and Command (paid program from Authentium) on my other two.

As Todd said, the free vesion of Online Armor requires removal of an older version before installing a new version. This means a whole round of new approvals and blocks. However, I don't count this as a terrible negative because it forces me to clean house once in a while, getting rid of dozens of rules that haven't been needed for ages. (I am very lazy about cleaning house regarding firewall rules otherwise. There is no need to have clutter.)
