My husband's family is German and so we usually host an Oktoberfest party (or two or three) at our house in the fall. This year, the weather was so gorgeous we had the party in late October. Frankly we were too busy in September and ANY TIME is a good time for brats and beer in my book.

Sometimes we go to Otto's and other times we go to Bavarian Sausage in Tigard. We choose three or four different varieties of sausage (spicy and mild) and have never been disappointed. Alas, the counter person this time was not a German speaker. A little disappointing because my husband doesn't have too many opportunities to chat auf Deutsch.

Also a great place to get my son's favorite Swiss strawberry jam that he fell in love with in Germany, Gewurzgurken (spiced pickles), dill sauce, chocolates. I could go on and on...

Guten Appetit!

Re: My life on the web› Deliberation

It's funny how they state that they *have* to sign this into law before Wall Street opens. What exactly happens if they don't? Maybe the same thing that happened today after missing the deadline....a 121 gain on the DOW.

Not saying they're directly proportional but Wallstreet is so ficky you have no idea what it'll do on any decision or lack there of by the govt.
