Do you know if they're included in your 1500 UK papers and publications covered in your remit?

Re: The PRCA goes on the offensive against the NLA

No idea. I think it's a good question to ask. The emphasis did look to be on UK papers, didn't it?

What we can do is leave a comment on the NLA's comment above and see if they'll come back to answer the question. If you find out from elsewhere it would be great if you could update this thread with their response too!

Re: The PRCA goes on the offensive against the NLA

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out and respond. This may sound like a silly question - but do you define "newspaper" anywhere. How can a company find out what sort of webpage is protected by the NLA and which are not. For example, can we quote from The Telegraph's blog section? Is that newspaper or not?

Can you only collect revenues from companies registered in the UK. If the media monitoring agency was a Gmbh, for example, do these license feels still apply? What if the software used for media monitoring was provided by a third party based in America and it was that third party software which sends out automated emails?

What's the actual law that empowers you to do this?

Just to make it clear - Brinkwire publishes press releases and we're interested in the PR and journalist sphere as a result. None of these questions apply to us so there's perhaps no need for you to answer any of them. We do have a number of agencies and journalists who read this blog, though, and I hope they'd take value from any answers you can share with us.

Re: MomDot and others guilty of Mum blogging hypocrisy? @joelcere and others think they might be.

That's a good point. Momdot is also helping to raise awareness and encourage conversation. How many of these blog posts would have been written if Momdot hadn't suggested the blackout in the first place?

Re: First impressions and Ketchum; insights from @cheeky_geeky and @rachelakay

Thanks again for the insight. Great stuff. I think it's an extremely valid point to comment on the quality of the VP's Twitter account. If her follow/followed ratio is 1:1 she can't be accused of being overly selective.

Do you think there's a growing risk that with platforms like Twitter that the actions of one person will more likely effect the public's view of whole company they work for? Or are we in the industry just looking at this sort of thing at a more microscopic level than most?

Re: First impressions and Ketchum; insights from @cheeky_geeky and @rachelakay

Thanks for the reply. There wasn't anything in your post which suggested you had an axe to the wheel but we wanted to try and inspire questions from all quarters.

Out of interest; has anyone from Ketchum tried to contact you about it yet? Would be interesting to see what Monday's reaction is.

Re: Intense Debate makes progress in baby steps

Wow. Good to see you making the time to comments on little and newly launched blogs like ours. Thanks very much for your contribution and clarification. We do use IntenseDebate (branded without the space?) elsewhere and really appreciate the rolling improvements you've been making!
