Gary sorry for some reason I am just now seeing this comment :( Disqus didn't have it in the pending comments. I hope you are now using the Vine Client extension for Chrome, that TheDaleks just brought to our attention. :)

This is a great post, and it would have been great if this feature had been rolled out to the Facebook users by Facebook in such an informative fashion. If that had been done maybe Resortime.com wouldn't be going through the backlash they are experiencing right now. There is a post detailing their pain here:

In the old page format you could move the tabs around so your most important custom tabs were showing have you found a way to do this with the new page design?

Or do you just have to make sure to delete a tab, add a new one, and then bring in your old tab after that if you want the new one to show up?

It sounds like I am talking in tongs here. :-)

Cheryl, yes you would be able to use it with any WP blog. If there is an issue it maybe a coding issue with your template. Let me know if you try it out.

Great list, especially numbers 3 and 4! We tend to lose site of business during the holidays thinking that nobody wants to focus on work. This has been one of our busiest times this year and if we want the beginning of the year to start off with a bang we have to get that going now.

This is a great list, there is one I would add in the free/affordable category greenrope.com. They also own teamr.com. Great platform that wraps contact management, email, social media, evite, and project management into one.

The future of blogging is augmented reality, it will be location based layered rich media and copy. A blog will be less about one view point, the writer, company, or publisher view point and more about an all encompassing information portal. We are seeing a move into layered content in the current blog platforms, embedded feeds to images, videos, internal & external page linking, and imported web conversations. Right now you have to scroll down a page to see all of this layered content, in the future it will be virtually layered and linked so you can swipe through and see exactly what you want to see quickly.

As a publisher I believe you will be able to link your content to a gps location or locations targeting people within, interested in, or from those locations. As users access information more and more from developing technology it will be comparable to “Minority Report" or rather the Six Sense project headed by Pattie Maes at the MIT Media Lab's new Fluid Interfaces Group http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/pattie_maes_demos_the_sixth_sense.html. Web content is moving off of the web and into the world, so will blogging.

Mike, actually it is still working. The issue that Facebook had for just a few hours where you could see private emails, is not where Yahoo got their access. Yahoo has found a way to tap into the emails now that they are text and not images. Try it out.

Hi Kate, thank you for posting a comment - about a week ago I posted in the comments that the keyword luv plugin has been scrapped and that that I changed over to Disqus for my comments. Disqus is working on an integration w/ comment luv. This is a dofollow blog, but it follows after a certain number of comments.

Keywordluv does not seem to be an active plugin anymore and I had to pull commentluv off to get Disqus on but they are working on the integration of the two so that should hopefully be happening soon. I will update as soon as I know more. This is still a dofollow blog - after you have visited and commented a few time - so you should still have the benefit of that feature while we wait for commentluv.

Great post Danny! I am always more impressed with the Netweavers rather than the Networkers. Netweaving connects and benefits others, while networking is about building "you". The real power lies in the former - it's quiet and unassuming but therein lies its strength. It's the wizard behind the curtain you gotta pay attention to. ;-)

Mark - Great post and for the most part I agree with you, where I differ is in why and how I use Followfriday. I don't care about the TopFollowFriday or Twittanalyzer Top 100 FF rankings, I participate to show appreciation.

There are those that I single out and groups that I label and if you see that I am bringing special recognition to those peeps. I mix those up weekly.

When I send out a group with no label or RT a group it is a way to say "thanks for the continued support and I hope you get some follows from this." And then there is the thanks for the FF group reply, which is just that - thanks.

Based on peoples reactions just getting a nod on Friday makes them happy, with that being the case I can take one day out of the week to mix in some recognition/visibility tweets with my normal tweet lineup. =)
