Critics have also said of Now You See Me 3 that it's 'a fun set up with a terrific cast', 'the magic isn't just confined to the vocation of the main characters' and 'a hugely enjoyable thriller, whose sleight of hand is both audacious and ambitious'. There are always reviews that say anything. * shrug *

I'm not sure why these two films are being pitted against one another in this way. Or any two films. Maybe the premise assumes The Running Man (or any film) could be expected to - or is even entitled to? - be a hit?

I think saying there are 'two scripts' in the works is close but not quite. 'Two contingencies' is probably more accurate.

Maybe it's because the film is extremely political, and about left wing vs right wing ideals to boot? It's not incidental to the film, it's one of the core reasons it exists.

The film was finished entirely some time ago. Literally many months. There was a photo from the sound mixing studio with lots of crew celebrating.

I hope it's not consigned to a streaming only release. I'd say the same about most things, mind you.

I loved John Carter, though.

I think there's a whole lot of throwing the baby out of with the AI bathwater going on in 'the discourse' right now.

Importing blu-rays from other countries is not as hard as people think it is. Is it expensive? Yes, but that would be okay if the filmmakers saw the money. Which I'm not sure they do.

Still, the streaming age has accustomed people to a lot for a little and it's not healthy.

What does Mike Newell, the director of Four Weddings and a Funeral have to do with this film? I think you're crediting Curtis for something he didn't do. It's like The Nightmare Before Christmas all over again, just with floppier fringes.

They will be names on agency grids. Agencies will record what they've heard as a way of logging who they want to put forward. These documents land on journo desks quite often. This starts digging.

Or sometimes the journo just gets told the 'we've heard' bit before it's written down. Especially by an agency who wants public opinion to factor into their negotiation.

Cinemas in my hometown, as well as the town where I live, and every town outside of London I have visited in the last six months are all priced around the £5 mark. There are even some cinemas at London with that pricing model. Significantly lower than anytime in 2015-2019, maybe even a wider window than that.

I too regret that cinema can be prohibitively pricy and I'd dread any future which blocks the working class from access. This is not, however, a trend I see happening across most of the country right now - well, not on the ticket price side. On the general all-round cost of living and relative devaluation of earnings side, for sure...
