I rarely touch my FB or MS accounts on a regular basis. They serve a purpose, very useful for certain things when I need them or to run into people who may not find you any other way. But they are definitely not for everyone, and usually I think everyone that uses them will grow tired of the constant updating and care needed. I think Scoble will move on soon.

Re: What makes things cool?

great post. i've recently learned this lesson. i have been surprised how some people do not see the long term value.

Re: The Most Dangerous Elephant, Ever

immature. feel free to bring in politics as it applies to the brand, the discussion, but this post goes too far into attack mode. If you want to have political discussions in this format, by provoking half of your audience, then change the blog goals and purpose.

A more mature and academic critique of the logo would have been more appropriate and truer to what most of us have come to expect from Brand New. The political REALITIES could of been brought in without too much bias in hand. I am sure comments from both sides would of surfaced to take care of the trench warfare that is "political debate" these days.

I am not here to defend any political party. I am here to discuss and learn from others discussing the art of the brand.

Can we steer the ship back on course please?

Re: ~~ First kiss ~

very intimate. lovely

Re: http://crushable.com/entertainment/natalie-portmans-itunes-mix/

pretty hot. and a steal at $8 for the whole shebang.

Re: So official

i just switched my wordpress domain over yesterday. it is $15 a year, pretty simple to do from the dashboard. takes a couple days to take. but it gives you that mild sense of accomplishment to see something you own as the url as opposed to the wordpress.com attached to it.

good luck. keep writing.

Re: Shriners Face Forward

all I can see is some weird mini-me conjoined twin. Didn't notice the double "o" at first, but it is a bit troubling now. Although it almost evokes an infinity symbol. The dot missing from the 'i' does not bother me at all. How can you say "its just wrong"? Letters and words get twisted all the time in logos and design.

Overall I think it rocks though. Thats always going to be part of it for some but for me (and many other savvy interweb surfers)the evolution of social networking is fast approaching one that enhances or even begins offline relationships. And I am not just talking about those roaming the internet for dating. Bloggers/tweeters get together for unconferences, events get posted via facebook/evite that I never would know about otherwise, entire organizations and even companies are being formed online and then progress offline.

I agree that the potential exist to be lazy and to fall into using online social networking as a social crutch, but it can also serve as a launching pad, extending your reach, broadening your perspective, increasing awareness. The important step, I think all would agree, is to consciously push these tools to serve what are more positive purposes.

Re: Love is a Circular Transaction

profound yet a simple little life lesson. always a good mantra to return to in business and beyond.

Re: Loud in New York City

very cool. nice attention to the type, makes you think NPR without realizing it, but is unique enough for the station's specific character to come through. modern, from THE city, etc.

Re: SanDisk through a Q&A with Brett Wickens

i dig it. very clean, much better spacing, modern treatment of type. the D reminds me of the Directv mark, but I think thats a reach on my part. enjoyed the interview and learning of the genesis of the change.

Re: My Blog Can Beat Up Your Web Site

blogs should be apart of any business model. and there is no reason why you can't incorporate a blog as a main part of your website. it can even be your front page. no need to choose

Re: In Brief: Logo Tournament

I wonder if there is any product placement here?
