Question on the recent comments widget.... I want eliminate the background color so that it appears as just text on a white background. I don't know which property is passing the grey "bubble" around each block of text. Is this in li.dsq-widget-item???? Can you please assist and give me the css to blank this??

Also... for the links, I want to eliminate the "posted x ago" and change the links to H4 in my default link color.

Help, por favor! I've got over 7 million pageviews and I really want to share disqus with our community.

If you look at my page www.fanblogs.com I want the "Heated Discussions" to look exactly like my old "Recent Comments" area just below in the right sidebar.

And then I want to do the same to incorporate the Disqus recent comments widget.

NOTE--- To "rate" comments, use the "UP/DOWN" arrows to the left of a comment. You cannot rate comments that are in reply to your own. I'm going to try to "UP" everybody this weekend, so we can easily distinguish between the faithful and the newbs.

I wish I could take credit for it, but it was suggested by a couple of blog guys who get 100,000+ views/day. We do about 1/8th of that a day (generally), so it should hold up for little ol' Fanblogs.

If yall have any suggestions (registration process, adding pics, etc) please post em and I'll let the Disqus guys know in my feedback to them. They are very responsive and very anxious to see their system in place here.

Can you explain in a little more detail, so that I can share with Disqus? On the picture, hard finding where to do it or in actually uploading/cropping a photo? With the blog -- hard finding where to edit? And then... "click enough links to post comments"?? Does that mean getting signed up and posting?

Sorry for so many questions - just trying to get as much info as possible so we can set up a "how to" quickly for the rest of the gang.

When I am logged in, I get: Add new comment and then a comment box, followed by a "post as fanblogs" button with my icon.

When I am not logged in, I get a box to add comments, plus my name, email, and website, a checkbox to "verify" and a submit button.

It would totally hook me up if you could capture a screenshot (printscreen button) and then paste that into an email (ctrl+v or EDIT>PASTE) and email that to kevin@fanblogs.com.

OK. On the picture, I had grey bars at first, too, because my picture was too small. (I believe the tool they use is wanting a 130x130 image). So, I had to go edit my preferred pic and add a large white background (200x200). Then I just centered my finished pic in their image editor -- done. I'll email you an AU logo that is a little bigger and should be eliminate the grey bars.

On the domain name... not sure why that is. If you go into your profile (either by clicking your picture or clicking here: http://disqus.com/settings/ ) then you should be able to list your domain (just be sure to add http:// before you put the www part).

As far as leaving comments, I'm just seeing something totally different than you. Can you let me know what browser you're using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Camino, etc) and maybe send me a screen shot of what you are seeing? Thanks, WEA.

GIve 'er a day or so and we'll get the kinks worked out. I probably screwed something up in the install, so if I ask 'em enough questions, it should get fixed.

Once I get everything integrated, comments will show up on the front page, just like in the old days. For what it's worth, I'm also working on a fresh design interface that will also add a video locker room and some other cool stuff.

You're the first to describe that. Hmmm.... which browser are you using? The display is set to show within the existing width. That shouldn't be an issue because of the fluid width divs, but.... does it work better when you set your browser to full screen?

You can search the archives sorta using the Google search above, but... as for comments, you really have to know what you want to find, because it is a little bit of a needle/haystack approach (versus the needle/field of haystacks approach that it once was).

On the arrest stuff -- seriously -- I am trying to move away from that. I can't *completely*, but I'm trying to limit it to where the impact on the team is OMG huge (ie Parker @ FSU, Rose @ VT) or just an absolute mind-blowing act of stupidity (ie Hornsby @ UF). According to BadJocks, there have been over 100 college players arrested this year. (In fairness, about 30% of those were probably Perrilloux!!!) If we blogged every one, this would be nothing more than the C.F. rap sheet blog. I know it may seem that some teams show up more often than others, but... I really am trying to use OMG bad or OMG stupid as my filter for what shows up here.

Your comments aren't showing up because you haven't verified yourself, Tomcat. Close out your browser completely, and then take a look at the examples shown in the update above (in the original post just below the video). You need to verify yourself.
