I don't understand how the police always say " Police said the possible assault appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public." about every stabbing or assault in downtown, yet it's happening to the public... Every article involving violence in Austin ends with this quote.

Only 46? Didn't 1200 people die from the flu alone in Texas last week alone? Thats 171 a day. I'm not seeing the problem here, maybe it's that or the 3000+ road fatalities in Texas alone are seen on the interstate signs annually. That matches just as much carnage as opoid deaths. Yeah it's no better but still, other things are just as much apart of the picture.

Surprised this doesn't happen more often, see motorists commonly that shouldn't be on the road. Once a driver gets checked, seems like a simple renewal avoids whether their competency should keep allowing them to be on the road. Not saying this is directly related, but I bet there would be a whole lot less accidents from it.

Cruise control can do that if left enabled but on temporary mode when a vehicle is parked. It resumes 100% capacity in mph zones that become dangerous. I've seen this in older models; Ones not yet optimized, ones still on the road.
