I change the oil every 10,000 mi. & it's just as clean as the day that I put it in, because I only start the engine on LPG. I only change the oil because the lubricity, & additives, eventually shear out mechanically. But being in a gaseous state, the LPG fuel never contaminates the crankcase oil w/ fuel that leaks-by the rings, as gasoline, or diesel does in their liquid state, until the piston rings have fully expanded @ operating temp.

The LPG delivery system is already in place all across the USA, it only needs further expansion.

LPG is still cheaper than gasoline, & you still have the option to use gasoline by simply flipping 2 toggle switches.

Tailpipe emissions of an LPG fueled vehicle are negligible, consisting mostly of H2O w/ some CO2. That's why vehicles that work in confined spaces, like forklifts, are often fueled w/ LPG. LPG condensates are also being added to aviation fuel, to enhance a cleaner burn. The USAF in MT. are using soybeans to distill
aviation fuel for C-130s

We should use the CTG-GTL process to sequester the pollutants out of coal, for fueling electric power plants, & save our abundant sources of natural gas for transportation.
We should also stop selling Alaskan LPG to Japan.
We have @ least 200+ yrs. worth of coal, & the "Overthrust Belt" which contains massive amts. of deep natural gas, runs from Mexico to Canada. We have a lot of gas & oil besides the overthrust belt, but the Bu$h Regime signed legislation that tacks a $4000.00 processing fee onto every new oil & gas drilling permit application in the USA.

China, India, & Argentina/Ford have contracts w/ Impco, the US company that mfgs. LPG conversion units, to convert fleet-vehicles over to dual-fuel capability. It's a very simple
operation, I installed the exchanger, & mixer, & plumbed the hoses from the 80 gal. tank in approx. 3 hours by myself.

Someone has been blowing smoke about the massive amts. of oil, & gas that China & India use. The use peaked & has remained flat for several yrs. now. I have been a steady subscriber to World Oil magazine for the last 25 years, & worked in the oilpatch,
on & around drlg. rigs in several different capacities for the last
35 years. http://www.worldoil.com

This LPG as a motoe fuel is an almost ancient, but proven technology that should be utilized
in the interim, until we further develop nanotube technology, cellulosic digestion of biomass, & lithium-ion battery technology, etcetra, etc..., etc...

Re: Coming Soon from VW: A 69.9 MPG Diesel Hybrid

Diesel #1 fuels vehicles in the summer, & diesel # 2, which is really kerosine, is used to keep fuel systems from gelling in the frigid Rocky Mtn. winters.

I remember reading that Peterbuilt
has a few new tractors the w/high pressure injection diesel engines.

An outfit in Cornelius N.C. by the name of Onyx Solutions, mfgs. propane fueled lawnmowers.
I've been thinking about converting my 1979 H-D 80" Shovelhead. to propane w/ some old 2 bbl mixers that I have.

Re: Coming Soon from VW: A 69.9 MPG Diesel Hybrid

My bad.
I got that back-asswards!
Diesel # 2 is for warm climes, & diesel #1 is for cold.

Re: Coming Soon from VW: A 69.9 MPG Diesel Hybrid

Screw you & the white horse you rode in on!

Re: Coming Soon from VW: A 69.9 MPG Diesel Hybrid

Not you Chris, I'm talkin' to the twit w/ no name. It's known as Methane Hydrate, & it surfaces when the ocean gets too warm.
It pops, fizzes, & squeals like dryice when added to H2O, because it is just big methane icecubes.

Many people believe that methane hydrate is what makes the Bermuda Triangle so weird. Water loses the ability to keep boats & ships afloat when the H2O becomes so aereated from the melting methane hydrate,

Aircraft engines also have a tendency
to flood-out & die, in such a methane saturated enviroment.

I'm just sayin'... the oceans are the Earth's heatsink. Yav Juvenile, Congo's diplomatic attache' to Uganda, said Congo is in the process of upgrading it's mission to ambassadorial level & is working closely w/ the Ugandan Ministry of Energy & Minerals on ways to improve oil exploration & exploitation on it's side of the Abertine rift. In March, the presidents of Uganda & Congo agreed to implement the 2007 Ngorduto agreement, which calls for improved political & economic cooperation between the two countries. Congo is close to granting an oil exploration & production license to UK based Tullow Oil, which already operates on the Ugandan side of the border.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to a brief statement published on the Chinese central government website, China signed a contract w/ Burma to build an oil & gas pipeline from Kyukpyu Port on the bay of Bengal through Burma to southwest China. The 1,242-mi gas & oil pipeline will run through Ruili, Yunnan Province, & Kunming, Guizhou Province to Chonqing municipality in southwestern China. The line would help China cut out oil cargoes' long detour through the congested Malacca Strait. Chinese state media have reported that the Yunnan Provincial Development & Reform Commission will begin construction on the pipelines in the first half of 2009 as part of of it's $10.55 billion worth of energy projects planned for this year.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iraq's Parlimentary oil & gas committee is seeking to revoke a gas deal signed by the oil ministry & Shell last year. Both the Shell deal & another contract between Iraq & China National Petroleum Corporation were illegal because they had not been approved by Parliment as required under Iraqi law, said Jabir Khalifa Jabir, Iraqi member of Parliment & secretary for the oil & gas committee. "We are going to do everything we can to revoke this deal & push Shell out." Jabir said. "Both these deals are illegal because they didn't go through Parliment. The companies & their lawyers knew the old Iraqi law very well." Any new deals signed in present bidding rounds would also be subject to revocation, Jabir said.
The Iraqi Oil Ministry has said it does not need Parliment's approval to sign new deals. Jabir said Iraqi law 97 clearly states that new deals must be passed by Parliment. The committee studied the preliminaryShell deal for the past 6 months & all mambers agreed it was illegal Shell signed the agreement last September to capture gas that Iraq wastes through flaring (burning).

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

XSFX?
The dude was self-hedicating via substance abuse, as was Lush Rimbaugh w/ his cigar box full of OxyNeocontin.
Repression is a real bitch!
If he was a bigger star, his PR people could blame it on exhaustion.

The most exhausting thing in life is being insincere. - Anne Morrow Lindburgh

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing. -Will Rogers

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

I have wept in the night
For the shortness of sight
That to somebody's need made me
Blind;
But I have never yet
Felt a tinge of regret
For being a little too kind. -Anonymous

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

I agree w/ Michael Moore, except for the gasoline tax, unless it is graduated according to income
My heart goes out to my fellow Americans who are suffering.
I knew that same feeling of anxiety & depression when the assorted & sundry consequences of mass unemployment hit the US oilpatch. It all began when Mr. "Ray-Gun" was the POTUS & neocons allowed the multinational Big/Oil corporations to begin importing "cheap" oil on a massive scale.
It wasn't long after "Ray-Gun's" secret under-handed pre-election deal w/ Iran to release our hostages in return for a multiplicity of US made armaments & other implements of destruction during Iran/Contra, that the USA started importing "cheap" oil from the Middle East.

Cheap oil devastated our domestic oil & gas drilling industry & the associated svcs.
Even the domestic shoe industry faltered because of cheap imports, but the workers had a Labor Union to lobby Congress for money to help their displaced workers attend a college or a Vo-Tech unit, & train for a new career/employment.

As a result of my in-your-grill attitude @ the "local" Wyo State Employment Office, thousands of workers in the US domestic drlg. industry were also considered 'displaced workers' by Congress & allowed funds to matriculate. The irony was that I didn't qualify for funds.

Now China is buying all of the world's natural resources that it can lay it's hands on, including Somalia's oil, & Chile's copper mines. The copper is needed to build batteries, which are integral for electric/hybrid automobiles.
The US has long considered oil as a fungible commodity, but China views it as a strategic asset. Perhaps the Chi/Comms practice Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"???
I hope that our Reps. in Wash.DC have stopped selling decommisioned USN warships as scrap to China.

China, India, & Ford/Argentina have contracts w/ the American company that manufactures
L.P.G. conversion units for autos-trucks-busses-et cetera, etc.
But then China creates software for some of our fighter jets, missles, etc. ROTFLMAO

LPG is 80% cleaner than gasoline, & the USA has massive amts. of natural gas.
Most of the hydrocarbons on Earth exist as methane, many in the form of undersea frozen clathrates of methane hydrate.
My -72 Ford F-150 operates on either gasoline or LPG, @ the flip of a switch, & has for 30 yrs.
Like a Timex," it takes a lickin' & keeps on tickin."

Most of our domestic & imported oil is expended on transportation, but we could operate 80% of that transportation via electric hybrid technology without building another electric power generator plant.

Coal fired power generation should be against the law!
Coal should be used as the feedstock for an updated version of the same CTG-GTL process that Hitler used to fuel his Nazi war machine.
Pollutants can be sequestered out in the process. The USAF has already done this @ an AF base in Monatana. The prolific & pestiferous right wing talk (hate) radio industry monopolizes 91% of the AM radio dial, while liberal/progressive radio is occupying a whopping 9% of the public airwaves via AM radio. This structural imbalance does not serve the "public good."

The "Fourth Estate" of government has transmogrified into a fifth column, that does nothing to create "a more perfect union."
Much of the press are still Bu$hCo presstitutes, even as the newspaper industry flounders.
Far too many people are content to be wilfully ignorant by getting their news from one source alone, & have that ignorance rewarded daily by Limbaugh & his clones.
One sided diatribes are what the (R) wing believes to be 'fair & balanced' reporting.

The single motivating force for most of the (R) wing broadcasters isn't profit.
It's really all about political control via the propagation of their propagandized content.
Reason & substance don't dominate in their diatribes, in fact there is no room for them @ all.

It's unfortunate that the GOP's Mighty Wurlitzer was actually aided by President Clinton's Telecomunications Modernization Act.
Instead of allowing for the further conglomeration of media outlets, he should have utilized the Sherman Anti-Trust Act to do some good ol' "Trust Busting," by instigating a cease & desist to all of the mergers & aquisitions
There are already far to many instances of corporate monopolies being too big to fail, yet they still qualify for Aid to Dependent Corporations.

According to the wing nutz, the Fairness Doctrine is nothing more than an archaic doctrine from the past, fashioned for depression era radio.
The US Constitution is another archaic doctrine that they would like to delete.

The Fairness Doctrine was enacted in 1929, during Herbert Hoover's reign of infamy, because they saw what one-sided radio broadcasts did in Germany.
The doctrine was dismantled during Ronald "Ray-Gun's" reign of infamy.
I always assumed that a diversity of opinions was a good thing.

The reactionary Congressional Republican't delegation have adopted the "Abstinance Only" approach when working w/ their Democratic counterparts. "Just say no" is their obstructionist approach to slowing down or halting any & all progress in Congress.

It's a crying shame that the GOP's Mighty Wurlitzer won't abstain from charcter assasination in their attempt @ dissent.
Dissent is fine, Alexander Hamilton said, "dissent is the life-blood of democracy."

Peace be upon you.

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

The 1st casualty of war is truth.

Re: Blog - Green 960 Online & Radio: Your Community.

The Law is extremely malleable when a Republican't is on the wrong side of it.
They ignore the spirit & the letter of the law w/ impunity.
Destruction of evidence???
I'm surprised they haven't brought up the Sandy Berger "incident" yet.
I remember the hissy fit they threw about his supposed destruction of evidence by hiding documents in his pants.

The Republican't "Mighty Wurlitzer" is a full spectrum-stand alone propaganda complex, & the ACLU is in it's sights again.
The GOP's interminable nationwide wallowing in vulgarisms about Clinton's zipper was inescapable after the "news" was plastered across the front pages of every daily rag in the nation by dutiful presstitutes, but the saturation point was not yet complete.
The full coverage by infotainment babes w/ Max Headroom anchors, & expert ANALysts on the tee-vee who were so aghast that they could barely discuss the blue dress, the cigar, & the fellating of a sitting POTUS, 24-7.
But they did it like troopers. Well El-kaaa-BONG! Babaloooie dude. I beg to differ w/ the good Reverand, as any sentient being can extrapolate that the utilitarian idea of working toward a more perfect union, has got that base perty'well covered. The public welfare & all that jazz???

IMHO the Constitution is a living, breathing, document. It is not a dead-letter, never to be amended.
It isn't a suicide pact either, as the fear mongering Republican't party under Bu$hCo's inept tutelage would have everyone believe.
It wasn't meant to be put away for "safe keeping," & be replaced w/ The Patriot Act until peace & prosperity prevail once again.
If we are indeed a nation of laws, let us abide by the laws of the land.
They seem to have worked ok for our ancestors, but then Bu$h refered to the FISA Act as antiquated.

Healthcare should be a national birth right for all, it shouldn't be a for-profit commodity.

"Of all the forms of injustice, inequity of healthcare is the worst of all." - MLK

The GOP repines & opines about the good ol' days when Slaves were only 3/5ths of a human being,
They would really like to take healthcare for the great unwashed masses, back a few notches as well.
The GOP Majority porked-up the Medicare Modernization Act w/ the Prescription Part D . . . buncha' BS, so BigPharma could benefit from the government's largesse, without the hassle of bartering price.
That perty' much covers the GOP's latest ideas on healthcare reform.

Hospitals have become places to die instead of a places to get well, because insurace company bureaucrats stand between patients & their doctors by, refusing to pay for certain procedures.
If the D.I.N.O. Dems of the DLC & their Republican't brethren, are willing to give up their insurance company cash cow, we could do this thing in a bipartisan manner.

It's just one of a myriad of impending issues that need attention STAT!
But it appears that the GOP is still up to their old obstructionist ways. Anything to impede progress.
They don't believe in evolution, but they are staunch advocates of devolution.
They've already got their "way-back machine" dialed in for pre-Civil War, & as long as they can continue to string along the willfully ignorant, the South will rise again.

Now I understand why these Republican't cretins have always underfunded the VA so drastically.
It's all clear to me now, why they've attempted to privatize every aspect of it @ every turn.
Because it's socialized medicine/healthcare, & they abhor it as much as they do transparency.

While working offshore Gabon, West Africa, the return trip to the US always required a layover in Paris.
I became deathly ill in the Paris airport due to too much duty-free champagne, too mas killer African bud, & a month of back breaking 12 hour tours.
A gendarme came to my assistance & escorted me to a clinic where I was treated for my malady
The friendly medical staff there were great ambassadors for France, & they refused to take my money.
