Your posting is quite timely. I've recently decided to quit my job and go out on my own. This is of course, after many months of preparing both mentally and logistically.

To Evan's point...the future isn't guaranteed...I think we all know that. However, when you apply a little research, prepare a plan and simply "believe" that you can achieve something, can greatly reduce the odds of your venture from failing.

That, coupled with good old-fashioned prayer and faith are guiding my new venture. Heck, I have a family relying on my success, there is no room for failure.

I enjoy your postings Chris and read them almost every day. You certainly do what you preach!

BTW - 2 weeks before I launch RetireNation. Watch out for it =)

Good for you - as you continue to exploit the awesome power and dignity that this profession offers. I was exposed to network marketing when I was 18 back in 1982. Even at that young age, I got it! The ability to start a business with very little overhead, yet having a tremendous opportunity to build a substantial business that can be passed on to my children was and still is highly compelling.

Let's do this together and finally change the perception out there!

Eric - I completely agree with you...blogging takes time and clear, cohesive thinking. In my opinion, it must successfully play into an overall theme that maintains a consistent message - much like your terrific posts!

I don't post every day but when I do, it really doesn't take much time and always offers great value to the reader.

Like you mentioned, don't let it absorb you so much that your overall objectives are not met. Get on, get on with it...and get back to work.

I like your spin on "the message" advertisers project. I agree with trying to surface the "emotion" as long as the product or service delivers.

Now, for those interested in the actual act of whitening your teeth...

I had yellow stain on one tooth for many years that no one dentist could eliminate without literally painting my tooth (this was years ago) I decided to hold off and when the Crest Strips came out I used those that miraculously erased that stain 100%! I now maintain whitening with Listerine's Whitening mouthwash and my once drab looking teeth are brilliantly white.

I flew to Boston a few weeks ago to see my parents and my Dad asked me if I Ajax my teeth or something. LOL

Save time and money and use what I used to get similar results.

Earl is a legend; I was in NSA years ago and achieved a top level position. Great company at the time, but there certainly was a flaw...you really had to know how to "sell". My distributors were stuck with lots of filters in their garages which ended up being my demise. I learned everything from that experience.

One of Earl's infamous sayings was, "They don't understand, what you understood" I can just hear him now in that southern drawl.

Great stuff Eric; you've done a remarkable job on this in just 1 year! Continued success and thank you for shedding such a positive light on this incredible industry!

Great article! I'm sending this to my two daughters who are getting ready for college over the next couple of years. I'm very worried that their "txt'ng" language is spilling over into school work and ultimately their future professional careers. It's unfortunate that most kids today think that "cursive" is what we did in the "olden" days; which still cracks me up when they refer to my childhood as the olden days.

You are right, Paul! They unfortunately don't realize what they don't know about their shortcomings. The dichotomy is; though they are embracing technology and can fly around a computer better than I can (and, it's my career), will they truly use it as a resource that will enhance their careers rather than stifle them?

Having good writing skills is an absolute must and I believe that more stringent policies should exist in schools; beginning in the elementary years - like in the olden days!

What an incredible concept! Yes, you can get logos, website, Twitter branded pages, list blasts and Facebook postings, etc. I thought it was too good to be true, but it's excellent exposure for the person or company doing the work - so everyone wins! I came across this a month ago and heard they are ranked way high in the search engines.

First habit, spending time with God reading the Bible! Through His Word He gives me strength, hope, courage and "wisdom" to face the day in alignment with His Will. Second habit is stretching and then a total body workout. Eat breakfast, pray with my wife and kids and now, I'm off to work feeling strong, empowered, blessed and happy.
