Typically this forces the audience to immediately make a judgement. You've crossed social boundary, and forced your audience into making that decision. Pick the wrong time or wrong delivery method and then everyone thinks your a fool.

A good example is Billy Connolly who uses swearing as part of his act. Its dropped in the correct place, the correct way, and its funny because its shocking.

Sounds like the unapologetic presenter demonstrated the bad way.

And last but not least. If you dont like your flex app timing out after 30 minutes of inactivity, its very simple to have a flex timer - activated on startup - fire off an event every 5 or 15 or whatever minutes, which will then use a similar http call to the domino server for information. This will in turn update the cookie, and the user will remain logged in.

We, for instance, use a call to a web service to refresh a 'view' on the flex app from a View from Domino.

Ah yes. The Airbus was actually an Airbus A380 - the largest passenger plane in the world. It had just flown by the Port Rush air show, came over the top of the Giants causeway (and flew over us), and headed off to Prestwick and Edinburgh for fly-bys. Very very impressive, and quiet.

It hung in the air the way that bricks dont.

I suspect that I got off lightly on this walk, as I slowed down when the going got hilly.

Moonwalk next year ? Mmm. Not a bad idea!

(I got home at 2am this morning- might fly next time!)

Glad you got your wallet back!

for that. Or the zSeries - the water cooling alone would cost a million..

Now a linux toilet is a hole in the ground, with various bits of wood and
paper lying around. Your supposed to build the fecker yourself.

(As someone who just spent the entire WEEKEND installing one OpenSuse
server and failing to install another on a Dell machine with a Perc
Controller - believe me, I know of what I speak. Mind you, the two win2k3
machines have just started demanding authentication keys again (after two
years ...))..

Sod this computing malarkey. I want to be a plumber. I'll still have my
arms in shit all day, but I'll be a damn sight more appreciated.

Bad bad news about Robert Dunlop. He died doing what he loved to do, I suppose. Little solace for those he left behind.

Myself and two mates are doing the 500 mile round trip to my dads house - from the extreme east to the west of scotland, and avoiding as much as possible the straight roads.. ;-) Its the 'start of the season' warmup run, so it'll be rough. Fun, but rough.

But I'll certainly catch up on the NW on Sunday night... One year, I'll get my sorry arse organised to head across. A mile away, you say ? Garden big enough for a tent ? ;-)
