Well, this year he's not done much due to him being dead, but the game he created is 60.

I'd have to agree with your comments... Centenary Square is a lovely space for a concert but on a cold windy day it's not somewhere you want to go to- it's a space to pass through.

I think Birmingham lacks enough theatre venues that create their own work rather than just taking in large scale touring companies. There seems to be a disconnect between the kinds of theatre/performing arts etc that goes to the Warwick Arts Centre and that goes to somewhere like the Hippodrome or the Alex.

The thinking in the programming seems to be that if we've "done the WAC" we don't need to swing by Birmingham. We're missing out on so much good theatre being accessible to the wider population. Warwick arts centre is great but that's mainly made up of students. And the WAC is hardly seen as a performing arts venue for the region let alone Coventry.

Birmingham needs to support the celebration of literature in a similar way to other counties around the country. The Birmingham Book festival is wonderful but needs far more support and funding.

There's ideas I keep returning to as I keep finding new thoughts about them.

And then there's the on off posts that turn into series. I blog alot about celebrity deaths because I blogged once about having a dead pool list.

I also blog alot about how some words are totally ineffectual for their current use. "Homophobic" and "gay community " being words that I use again and again but feel I don't fully know what they truly signify.
