As you can tell, I'm very excited about Mark's idea and I can't wait to see what we do with this. There were so many cool concepts for both the panel and ideas that spring from it, including the conference idea that you captured on film, that I think we could work for years and not do all of the cool things we covered.

Michelle, no worries - I'll be buggin' the hell out of you about this idea. ;)

I love this town.

Re: Social Media Graduates to the "How?" Era

Your post kicked off a bunch of different ideas Scott, and once I realized the length of my comment was growing very quickly, I decided to post my thoughts on my site. Thanks for kickstarting the subject and sharing your ideas with the community. We're at a pivotal time and the more people who recognize the state of our nascent industry and work to set us on the right path, the better off we all are.

Re: 10 More Twitter Users Who Deserve Attention

Thanks for including me Scott! You've compiled a great list of folks that I am now following and expect will teach me a lot. I look forward to the next discussion like "rethinking comments on mainstream media sites"; I'm still processing some of my thoughts on that one in order to apply the good ideas.

Cheers,

Alex | @BaldMan

Re: How I learned to stop worrying and love The Google

I've wrestled with how much I plan to give to Google. I haven't given them access to my e-mail, though they know where I'm at via Google Calendar, which is my master calendar for work and home; what I'm interested in via Google Reader, Search, and various Google Groups to which I belong and/or run. They know how well my sites perform and the content I publish there via Google Analytics, they control my outbound RSS feeds via FeedBurner. Oh, and then there's the general tracking of me via AdWords across these here InterWebs. Perhaps my desire to keep some small part of me separate is futile and at this point I trust Google. That said, I'm not sure that I trust every single government and law enforcement agency worldwide that has possible jurisdiction over part of my data, nor have we seen how the big G's stockholder will react to a bad year or quarter. My worry is that they will push much harder to monetize my data, interactions and interests. I still like to think that I own my data.
