As a brand new blogger and someone only a couple weeks in to Twitter, the information I receive via Tweets and blogs has been invaluable. I actually e-mailed Chris Brogan and asked him advise to which he responded, almost immediately. That to me, makes someone a "Rock Star" ... Even with the success he has achieved and the time he puts in to passing along this valuable information, he took the time to respond when he could have easily blown it off or simply ignored it. This speaks volumes to his integrity. Before I entered into the world of Twitter two weeks ago I had never heard of Chris Brogan and since then I read his name (always accompanied by accolades) at least a couple dozen times a day. I hope to learn from and follow in the footsteps of the Chris Brogans and the Danny Browns.

Re: Win $500 Wal-Mart Gift Card!

Garage Sales! Especially poignant was your line about checking your assumptions at the door. Way to often we write people off (or are written off by others) without being given a chance, without taking the time to really listen, to go beyond the quirks or an outdated hairstyle. In the end, substance will always win out and the true heart, soul & character of someone will be revealed. Her song and it's message gave her courage and us hope. It made me realize that I too could not only dare to dream but could and should act upon them! BRAVO to Susan for an amazing and inspiring performance ~ and to you for taking the time to honor her.

Re: Trusting My Instincts

Congratulations Sarah! I left IZEAfest armed with so many ideas after hearing you speak and was inspired by your level of commitment to what you do. You connected with everyone who you spoke with as if it was they that mattered most. While you had never met the majority of them before you took the time to listen, to make the connection. It reminded me that how important it is to make people matter. You shared so much valuable information while on the dais and while working the room.

I am new to Social Media. I only started on Twitter a year ago yet it has been life changing. I have met incredible people. I have travelled abroad. Been presented with amazing opportunities, all that would have never happened if it weren't for social media.

I share this story with EVERYONE I meet. I have experienced 1st hand the wonders of how social media shrinks the world, levels the playing field. If you "do it right" the benefits can be tremendous. You were one of the very first people I followed on Twitter. I learned so much from you and continue to "pay it forward" telling newcomers on Twitter, Facebook and Blogging to follow you. I also try to mentor people, companies and organizations on the benefits of social media done right!

Re: Whole Foods Changed My Life

A wonderful story, a true inspiration

Re: The Three Billion Dollar Cleaning Man

While I have never been to the Wynn, I do know Wes. Without effort their is absolutely no customer service. Even the biggest companies "miss" once in a while, but never because of lack of effort. Longevity depends on it. Brand reputation won't survive without it. Social Media is instantaneous and as a result sometimes people expectations have become unrealistic. Trying is half the battle in succeeding.

Re: Saran Wrap Series – My Transparency on Twitter

I have thought about automating many times to "beef up my numbers". Somehow credibility comes along with tens of thousands of followers. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The beauty of Twitter is the sincerity of its users and the ability to really connect with people I otherwise would never have met. Managing my Twitter account is no different than the way I conduct business or the way I make friends IRL. It's all personal. It all has purpose and meaning. In doing so, Twitter has changed my life in so many ways. Opportunity has come tweeting more than once. Had there only been spammers & porn stars in my tweet stream I might have missed some of the remarkable people that have come into my life. Twitter has taken me around the world, virtually and IRL. Somehow that far outweighs "beefing up my numbers" ...

Re: Less Really Can Mean More

I'm a huge fan of making vision boards and from my experience they do work. Like fingerprints and snowflakes, not two Twitter streams or experiences are the same. Are there people who I wish would follow me back that don't? Absolutely! Much of that has to do with my ego. When someone follows me back, it's a validation that they want to hear what I have to say. Engagement, is a BIG part of effective use AND satisfaction on Twitter.
