Couldn't agree more. We've used it as a format to start off a bi-monthly social group in order to get handicaps for future stableford tournaments. It didn't work well at all and trying to explain the format to someone who had a great round and didn't win, is near impossible.

Nice stuff Steph. This is quite fascinating to hear Paddy chat about this. I think as fans we all feel like this and it's interesting to hear that even tour players feel the same way. Just completely amazed and confused. We had no idea!

I'm starting to wonder more and more if they should just introduce handicaps to this final event! It's not unlike the current format but they get handicapped the first few rounds depending on where they finish and then the final two rounds are just stroke for stroke.

We'll all know where they stand on the leaderboard without all these permutations and it would be ironic and funny to have handicaps introduced to professional golf.

Probably also the reason why it won't happen.

Imagine if he was an Australian golfer - he'd be expected back on home soil immediately to compete in our summer tournaments. We disown any who don't!

Ha. that makes me laugh. ?It gives a good in sight into the sort of talk that goes on during the practise rounds or even during a tournament for that matter.

But it's kinda true. Amongst other things I've grabbed a higher degree in Physics and forward time travel at the moment is theoretically possible in the forwards direction. Backwards has not yet been incorporated as a possibility.
Check out Hawking or some of Paul Davies books. This gives you a start. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... Most of the references are excellent despite it being Wiki.

Man, I can't believe I may have just outed myself as a major geek now.

Oh and this doesn't mean to say Phil is no longer wacky!
