this implies that a whole lot of thought went into this. like they legit thought about doing this if they could get away with it. yet I can kinda understand why they would be so remorseless about it because if they rewind time to before it happened, it's like it never happened at all and thus there's no traumatized victims so to them this is probably the most ethical way of acting on their urges??? .......... literally nobody rational would support that kind of thing, not even liberals. In fact most liberals I know in person would agree for that kind of thing to be banned, because that sort of thing isn't reversable in case the kid wasn't trans, just genderfluid or whatever else. The closest thing I've ever heard to that happening was giving a young teen hormone suppressant pills so that they didn't grow beards and stuff like that, and that kind of pill can be reversible unlike bottom surgery.

Typically when we say we support trans kids, we mean it like this: If a kid says they feel like a boy/girl, then we say "that's okay, that's normal." and leave it at that. we don't do anything about that afterwards other than let them explore the idea of what it means to be a male/female and what it means for them. we don't instantly take them out to start hormones and start cutting off genitals. that sort of thing is best left for when they're adults, if they still want that. we don't have sex with them or see it as a sexual fetish unlike what you sick-minded conservatives seem to think... and to be honest I think you guys are telling on yourself when you talk constantly about how being trans is a sexual thing.

Venus thirsting for her biological father even if she knew goliath was her father was just weird. I wonder WTF the writers were thinking with that one. I wouldn't have her wanting love in that way if I was writing this story. lol.

Though I guess it makes some sense for a clone to feel that way because I read this study the other day that went in depth over how incest happens when most people have the instinct to be repulsed by it.
Put simply, if daddy and daughter never met each other until later in life and even if they know they're related, the westrick effect (the thing that prevents incest) doesn't kick in. It's hard to see a stranger as family, but if you feel an instant connection due to biological ties or whatever this can be pretty easy to confuse for other feelings. So half-sibling's, daddy/daughter, etc all fuck each other mistaking that connected feeling for other things.
The ones who didn't find out they were all related until later in life I understand as that's just a tragic mistake. but the ones who do know they were related and still went along with it? THAT weirds me out. EWWW.

And I'm happy you don't seem to have that experience of having run into the more toxic FB groups and other groups online that you would remain skeptical that I do in fact need qualifiers otherwise they'd think I'm republican scum. Keep it that way.
Thankfully most liberal people I know, inducing myself tend to be reasonable people but in those toxic groups I mentioned, there is definitely a lot of chronically online people who seem to live up to the negative stereotypes, which honestly just embarrasses me because I know the right-wing likes to use those types of people to paint us all with a broad brush saying we're all like this.

Yeah, but this is the internet. where even though we're in the same social circles, even in an all-woman group online, the slightest bit of disagreement suddenly gets you treated as the enemy. I just dislike this internet culture where everyone has to literally be part of the hivemind or else they get attacked over every possible accusation they could smear you with.
So yeah, I have to use qualifiers the way a lot of internet articles have to do nowadays. like the recent ones about the newest Doctor Who where they say they thought the new Doctor episodes were boring and lame as fuck, but also had to say they loved the trans stuff so that they wouldn't get accused of being transphobic, even though the article wasn't attacking the new doctor who eps for having trans representation, just simply saying it was boring. Saying something is boring, lame, etc because the writing is bad isn't the same as saying it's bad because representation. Ya know? But Chronically online people often twist things to make it sound like they were saying it was bad because of the representation.

I've had pushback on this site for saying this in the past, so... often from people who are of the same political party that I am. so yeah, sometimes I have to put in qualifiers like that just to stop people from jumping down my throat or accusing me of being a man who runs a troll account just because I disagree with them on some things, like how a woman is supposed to be depicted in fiction.

That is, my opinion that women be depicted as ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS instead of being beacons of purity that no real women can ever become in real life.

Uh. so that was something. The art was good, but the story left a lot to be desired.
I'm a feminist and all, but that doesn't mean I'm buying into the whole "Man bad, woman good" BS they've been putting out there lately. I do like the idea of using black eggs as metaphors for wars, etc. But whoever wrote this had to be fooling themselves that women never warred. there were female rulers in history who waged some seriously bloody wars, and there's female serial killers and female pedophiles.
As a feminist, I think women are stripped of all autonomy and our humanity if we deny the fact that women are just as human as men are... and thus also equally cable of both great and terrible deeds. As a feminist, I want everyone to see that we're all human beings here and thus is equal in every way. not put up on pedestals as icons of purity or whatever else.
So I think this story would've been way better had we had some female commanders into the mix there too, jealously guarding their black eggs because it profited them in some way.

I wear hearing aids and can listen to music, so I can hear things like that when out and about like that because I only take my hearing aids off at home. at home, I typically take a break from hearing stuff and just relax in silence. I think it's very rare that a deaf person is so thoroughly deaf that they literally cannot hear anything... most deaf people typically have hearing aids on when interacting with the public. I know some who choose to forgo completely, but they often compensate for it by being alert at all times to possible trouble. (which sometimes makes them look weird or shifty because they're always looking around, even behind themselves lol).

I have a hearing boyfriend who I'm about to get married to soon, and any issues we had were easily fixable. like when I don't realize something I did was noisy AF when he was trying to sleep... he tells me about it and then I don't do it anymore when he and other people are sleeping. Easy fix. And before you bring shit like fire alarms or whatever into the picture, just know there are fire alarms for the deaf that uses bright flashing lights that gets through even closed eyelids and is loud enough to wake up the dead. Same thing for the doorbell alarm, etc. And for communication issues, he learned sign language to be with me... which is great because I wouldn't be with anybody who dared not to learn anything for me if he wanted to be with me forever.
Tell me, what issues do you think a hearing person would have to put up with when being with a deaf person, hmm??

While I highly doubt Shane's claims about ito's background, I have to say Misandry is in fact a thing. It's just less prevalent in society and not systematic in the same way that misogyny is. misogyny is more prevalent than misandry is, because ya know, we live in a patriarchal society.

but just because misandry is less of a problem than misogyny is doesn't mean it's nonexistent. I have definitely seen my fair share of misandry. Yet now and then I'll see the occasional so-called "Feminist" wander into my social feminist circles who were acting like a incel boy who joined the MGTOW movement, only gender-bent.

Those few women literally blame men for EVERYTHING, even things that men had nothing to do with. Food prices are rising? Gas prices too high? it's all the evil men's fault.
Those "feminists" join the feminist groups online not to talk about any actual women's issues at all or to even support women in general... but only to mainly talk about how men are at fault for everything, just like how the MGTOW group does nothing but blame women for everything. I once saw one talk about how they should adopt China's old one-baby rule, only instead of baby girls being killed we kill baby boys and keep baby girls. I personally thought that was a little too much.

I think Tomie at her core, is basically just some supernatural creature who reproduces by getting sliced up. there's already similar creatures in nature who reproduce that way.... and guess how they go about it? by intentionally going up to other creatures that they know to be predators.

I think Tomie was just meant to be a commentary on how society overall saw both men and women, as one commenter here already said. But I do think it would've been more compelling had Tomie been more a theme on how seemingly "good" people could be driven to murder by somebody who knew how to bring out the worst in them, and if she didn't merely only target men but also more women in general. later Tomie works do in fact target women instead of men, especially the movies. I remember there being one Tomie movie where a girl got thoroughly seduced by her and were disgustingly yet lovingly stroking Tomie's served ear in a box talking about how they'd be together forever by the end of the movie.

I think it's a story that would have benefited from learning about those characters firsthand, and how seemingly good they are... contributing to charity, helping out others at school, etc. Have the stories start out with female characters first who seem to love the attention from looking like a perfect saintness... only to get salty when Tomie shows up and steal the spotlight. And then do the same exact thing for some of the men too.

In fact the Koreans took the concept of Tomie and executed the idea of using her as social commentary without it being sexist perfectly. there's this series called "The girl from nowwhere."

Weirdly enough, while I think the parents could go die in a ditch for all I care, I feel sorry for this second daughter. This is the classic setup of abusive families out there where one kid becomes the designated scapegoat until they leave the nest, and then the next one becomes the new scapegoat, and so on forth.
Normally in real life the kids would eventually realize how toxic the parents are and leave without any contact... but in this story? Who knows?
All I can say is, I hope the second sister eventually realizes it wasn't Viellyn's fault that the two of them ended up saddled with such shitty parents.

yet having bodies be a certain way, aka biology, still can affect how
a human brain works and think. blind people think and "view" the world
differently. Neurodivergent people think differently, because of brain
chemicals. Heck even different cultures and living in different
countries affect how humans think in general.

I still call bullshit on animals thinking exactly the same way a human would
solely based on the fact that animal bodies would cause the brain to see
the world differently, even if they did have human-level intelligence.
For one thing the way they live in the wild is vastly different to the
way humans live, so they wouldn't view some things the same way.

So a bee wouldn't think that human-made bee farms were slavery at all.
instead, they'd note that the humans often went out of their way to
insure that they were well sheltered, well cared for, and had plenty of
food. just all because they wanted the honey. I can see them deciding
that kind of service wasn't enough though and demanding more however.

I know this is an two-year-old comment. but, I felt like I needed to toss in my cent here.

I don't think the crossed is what humanity in real life would look like if they lost all impulse control. Instead, I think it'd be more disturbing in that they'd all mostly act normal half the time, save for that one time when they have this random ass thought, like, "what would happen if you were to just swerve the wrong way into traffic" and then acts on it. So one moment they seem normal, and then all of a sudden they're just driving the wrong way simply to see what happens, and getting a thrill out of it before returning back to normal.
even scarier if they didn't have that cross thing on their faces, because then you honestly wouldn't be able to tell who were infected or not until it was too late. look up the Antisocial Personality Disorder as an example of perfect loss of impulse control. where they seem normal most of the time, but then does stupid reckless things that harms themselves and others around themselves. but imagine that being worsened ten times more, and magnified across all of humanity.

But I imagine that'd be too complex and disturbing, eh? it's easier to have the crossed because then you can point to them from miles away and say, "yup, that's a bad guy alright."
