That's a classic and well known tactic of racists, i.e. Psychological Projection. That is, projecting onto others the very thing that you yourself are guilty of. Rush Limbaugh has made a career out of this fallacy. The sad thing is, people like you believe it.

Defending bigotry by claiming that others do it too. Is that the standard for America? Because people in other countries say things like this? For one thing, words like the "N" word have a different meaning, and their history is much different than that of the US. So that's a bogus comparison.

I'd go on and explain to you that there is a reason people don't say the "N" word in America anymore, and why Minstrel shows went out of fashion decades ago, but I know it would be totally lost on you. In fact, you'd probably justify why Minstrel shows should still be here.

I don't know what you call people who by default classify an entire population as animals, criminals, etc......and who advocate the slaughter of such people, but in the world I live in, such people are bigots who need to be marginalized.

There are other ways to ban racist, inflammatory hate speech than forcing people to join Facebook. The Ut simply does not want to devote resources to policing the site, and are simply taking the lazy way out.

I'd highly recommend this article. It's the German news magazine, Der Spiegel, and it's interesting getting a perspective from outside the US, which is more objective IMO.

I have nothing against anyones religious beliefs. I am only against people using such beliefs as the basis to discriminate against people, to try and change our education system, or in an attempt to create a de facto theocracy. This assertion that this is a "Christian nation" by some offends me greatly. Nothing could be further from the truth.

There is nothing subjective about classifying an entire population as animals, criminals, and the like. Nor is there anything subjective about advocating opening up on non combatant poor people with machine gun fire, or placing mines in the path of such people.

This is just a tid bit of the kind of "subjective" speech that I am talking about. I can cite similar examples all day long. This is not about "thick skin", or "thin skin", it's about marginalizing and ostracizing such viewpoints, and eradicating it whereever it exists. As long as it is not the government doing the censoring, it is perfectly legal and proper.

I know this fact totally escapes you, but it's about putting a stop to vitriolic, inflammatory hate speech, which they have allowed to fester to the point where they have to do SOMETHING. I totally disagree with their approach to forcing people to get a Facebook account, there are other ways to permanently ban people. They just don't want to devote resources to policing the site, so they are taking the lazy way out. On stopping hate speech however, I agree with them 100%. It's just unfortunately a day late and a dollar short. Should have been done a long time ago.

In many ways, the terrorists have already won. This country will never again be the same, and being forced to spend trillions of $ on the monstrosity of the security aparatus, not to mention two unfunded wars is exactly what Al Qaeda wanted. Add to this the toxic, poisonous political climate that gets worse with each passing election cycle, and it's clear that the enemy has achieved victories in more ways than one. You'll excuse me if I choose to tune out everything 9/11.
