When I encounter a challenge in my writing, I try several things. I browse images for inspiration, use tarot cards, and meditate on it before sleeping to see what appears during a dream. When all else fails, I ask my muse, who happens to be my sassy 16-year-old daughter. A good brainstorming session with her always gets things rolling again!

I like to change my view. A different chair in the house or a different cafe to write in. Just getting a new look at things can trigger the creativity.

When stuck I research. Sometimes to the point of overkill. For my current novel I've been really delving into each character. I'm putting a lot of thought into the meaning behind their name, birthday, and birth location. I've been saving images of rooms and clothing that I see fitting them. My daughter has started to joke that I don't need to know the color of their bathroom walls! LOL But it does help me move past the writers block to know more about each character.

I'm being more careful to make sure I have an original source. So many are coming from stock photos companies or google image search. I hope they do get it worked out since I really do enjoy the site.

@twitter-13093882 Great points about Pinterest not being just for "girls". I've been telling people it's what you make it. You want a girly experience you can have it but you can also have the more "manly" one too. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my post! Sharing this one now.
