As a fan of the God of War series (no, I'm not 12) I will actually agree that this game was lacking in several ways. I personally think it was due to the ease of the game and a general weakness in writing. Even after reading your review I'm a little confused on this point so I'll ask, have you played the first two games? I ask because I felt that the main reason why this game wasn't that great was because it didn't need to happen (as you did point out). As you said "‘God of War 3’ had to be made in order to show off what a ‘God of War’ game looks like on the PS3 console." The second one (which is the best of the series and possbily the best sequel to any game) could've easily ended with Kratos killing Zeus. GoW2 also had all the more amazing and challenging boss fights, which I think kind of hurt GoW3 since all the best characters in Greek mythology were already killed forcing it to be 8 hours of mass-deicide. The thrill of killing a God is taken away when it happens every 20 minutes especially since most of them are as challenging as opening a cold jar of pickles.

But really Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2 are two of the greatest games? That I can never agree with you on. You complained about the puzzles in GoW being "simply tedious" which I find funny because I cannot bring myself to finish either of the games previously mentioned. You talk of your tastes in videogames maturing as you grow older, does that mean you're more into 10 hour movies with the occasional playable action scene? I kid. Seriously though, I liked this review as you're incredibly fair with it. Good job.

This is just cold hard speculation on my part but this could be due to the recent deal that Perez Hilton signed with Warner Music Group, which also is the parent company of Roadrunner. This could be some really odd form of promotion for Zombie's album. However, I don't see Perez selling out his blog for Rob Zombie.

Completely agree. It's also the melodic bridge around the 2:30 mark that keeps me coming back to it. The various styles that are implemented give the album such great strength but the mixing and tone of everything is what keeps the work grounded and heavier than thou.

Bloodbath is one of my favourite bands right now. I thought mentioning his darker vocal range would've sufficed as a shout out to his work with Bloodbath but I guess I didn't directly mention Bloodbath so I guess that does make me a faggot.

You should also know I smoke Menthol Cigarettes, in case there was any doubt.

I wanted to post the title track from that album but the file size was too large for Tumblr. I chose this is one because it is one of the better song from the album that is under 7 minutes.

That album is pretty amazing and it has some of my favourite Mastodon songs in it, but other than Remissions every release from the band (including the Lifesblood Ep) has been a "grower" for me, often taking a good couple of listens before I could fully embrace said record(s).

Crack The Skye is worth money. Good money. Not that shitty "bad" money I assume exists.

The first time I saw this film I almost stopped watching barely half way in because I found it rather boring. Thank fully I stuck in long enough to be utterly enthralled by scenes such as this.
