Full-stack web devs.

I keep wanting to add caveats: "...with a backend focus." "...specifically with RoR/Phoenix backgrounds." "...in the social impact space." "...freelance/contractors." "...needing senior perspective for their team." And so on.

And I keep wanting to get aspirational: to target fields and professions that I _want_ to work in, but don't already have strong credentials & a track record in.

Some of the pull there feels smart (make it narrow!), but I suspect that I'm mostly making it about my wants and preferences and personal unique special-ness rather than just jumping into what feels like a somewhat generic space.

Would you give your phone number to a total stranger? I don't mean that rhetorically. You might be perfectly comfortable with it.

It's worth considering because, location issues aside, friending on Foursquare does exactly that.I can pull the profile of anyone marked as Friend and see buttons for Text, Email, and Call. And they work.

I'd already listened to the audio version of this once, and gathered that it was good and inspiring and all that, but like most things audio I listened while doing something else and lost a lot to it being just background. Actually reading the transcripted version is.......well, let me just say that I'm gonna keep a copy of this somewhere obvious and visible for the next time I need a motivational kick. Like, this already has me opening MarsEdit for the first time in too long.

So yeah, you just helped inspire me to go suck in public. Thanks.
