You know, we spend billions on defense and homeland security. So how can anyone feel secure when MILLIONS of unwanted, illegal aliens WALTZ across our southern border?

You know where my outrage is with this subject? It's with all the freedoms AMERICANS GAVE UP under Bush with the PATRIOT ACT. We give up freedoms to protect our national security and TENS OF MILLIONS of illegals are in this country - with more coming every single day.

As for why most of them come here - that's a gimme. OF COURSE they are looking for a better life. So are we going to leave the doors to our houses open and let anyone who wants, walk in? I doubt it.

We need to start with the employers. We need to continue with a tough love policy. No more anchor babies. Yes, your child born here is American. Your kid can stay (we have enough people looking to adopt) but YOU have to move to wherever you came from. Or your kids can go with you. Either way, YOUR not staying here.

These are the people that eduardo de oliveira protects. Is that American? To protect the illegal criminals and to hell with our national (and local) security?

That man needs to be investigated because he is knowingly hiding these criminals. Where is the outrage from Americans when someone is an accessory to criminals like this?

We need to punish those who KNOW of illegals and DO NOTHING about it (report them).

Or we can all sit back and line ourselves up (and our children) to be their next victim.

I just love these legal immigrants who advocate for the illegals. As far as I'm concernedl, Oliveira, you are not a good American, and with the mindset that breaking our laws and breaching our national security is "OK", you will never BE a good American. With Americans like YOU, who needs enemies?

Advocate for the laws, and if you don't like them, advocate for change. But DON'T advocate for those who come here illegally, breaching our national security, and overburdening our social services, schools, and so much more.

This arrangement with the hospital is only due to the economy. They bought the property - then cut employees and benefits like crazy. This is not the time for them to continue their insane expansion. So, they are holding off and in the meantime look good in the community for being such wonderful people.

You don't think they'd be doing this during good economic times, do you?

BUT, with that said, the gesture is accepted with much appreciation.

LONG OVERDUE. The first year a governor is just getting to know the state issues. The second year they spend campaigning. Umm, where's the time to actually govern?

Even re-elected governors have a limited time to govern with the next election right around the corner.

So if a secretary works 40 hours they get 2 1/2 hours of overtime. And how is that not a scam for the taxpayers? Whoever negotiated that provision should be run out of the city.

Normal people would work 8 hours a day and be required to stay an additional half hour or more for their required lunch or dinner break.

Pontiac in name only. We lamented when Olds went bye bye. Gone with just a whimper.

Same with Pontiac. Between Olds, Pontiac, and Chevrolet (if not more of their brands), they all came off the same assembly line. Put a Pontiac label on this one, Olds on that, and Chevy on that. The cars did good in the 60's because they LOOKED DIFFERENT. Today, they're all a blur.

Are you kidding me? They kept refinancing and took out $90G? I also kept refinancing, not taking cash out but getting a lower interest rate and thus lowered my mortgage payment. Plus, I took the money I saved and put it onto the principle thus paying it off years early.

Hey - I think we may have found the real Ole Mtn Man! Wouldn't hurt to have some pride in your appearance - especially since you do deal with the public sometimes. Half the battle is attitude. Yours sucks. Be truthful next time. What did you do with all the money?

If you or I were to camp out in MFP we'd be run off like common criminals. But non-taxpayers (are they even legal residents of the city?) can park wherever they want on public land with little recourse.

You have the right to free speech, but you do not have the right to use the school newspaper to that end.

Another example would be the Telegraph (or any other major newspaper). The only right to "free speech" I have with the newspaper is to write on this board or send a letter to the editor. The newspaper can print my letter, or not. It's their paper so what they print is their choice.

So what the paper prints is what they deem as news. They can also manipulate stories (if their own employees wrote them). Actually, they can even CREATE news. But that's the way it's been since the first newspaper was printed.

If this is the case, how do regular citizens exercise their "free speech"? Simply by TALKING. That's what free speech is really all about. We can discuss any subject we want. Where does it say that we all have the right to PRINT our thoughts in a medium owned and operated by someone else? You want to do that - then start your OWN newspaper where you control content.

Their retirement should be based upon 100% of their average BASE salary for their entire career. No carry-over on sick days. Cut them down to 5 a year. Health coverage at the then current plan - and a contribution of 50%.

We all know that job descriptions are mostly BS and that a majority of functions for department heads are performed by assistants.

What do these people REALLY do every day? Have meetings? Talk on the phone all day? What?

I can't believe a beautiful town like Stratham would put up with this crap.
I get the feeling the good officers of Stratham are all breathing a little easier today knowing this guy will soon be out of there. They all may be "close-knit" but most of the cops would rather work under a "real" leader.

Forget the "law", it's all about what the jurors think. Regardless of what the judge tells them.

Don't think judges don't intimidate attorneys. They do. Outside lawyers are less likely to be concerned with having to face a judge many times over their career.
