I was at 258. Granted, still 100 above, but I certainly wouldn't near 300.
-Mike

Re: Hi Mike?

Yes, it's true, I changed my name. I think people weren't quite getting it. It was "Apollo's Raven" and the apostrophe got lost, and people thought my name was Apollos, or they'd call me Apollo, when really my aim was for his messenger raven. Okay, that was a lengthy unimportant ramble. So in reality, my name is Mike, and I love classics (Ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian civ. etc.), it was my major in college (hence the fascination with Apollo and his raven). Want to take a little more ownership over my blog, and the stuff I put up, so it's fitting to use my first name.
As for sophrosyne: it's the Apollonian 'virtue' if you could call it that. It's Greek for "temperance," but goes more beyond to the ideals of grace, humility and wisdom.
Go figure, I have a tattoo of "sophrosyne" in Greek, right next to a depiction of Apollo's raven!

Hope that clarifies everything. And I look forward to continuing reading!
-Mike

Re: Elle

"You have soared, like the kingly eagle, where no man can follow. From experience on a few of these things: the regret of not jumping into applying senior year, the sudden end of a relationship, and even the daunting task of cycling through paperwork of resumes, they ultimately pave the way for the absolute opposite of failure. Know that many of us, myself included, have been in that boat, and we(I) am always available if you want to either talk your mind off it, or talk through it.
All my best,
-Mike

Re: things I hate, a continuing life series.

I may have to pull some rank and refute your initial claim of not being pretty enough. In the job hunt a year ago I probably put word out to at least 60 'open until filled' positions at random houses (even Random House), and got nuthin back, not even an HR e-mail. Granted, I had zero publishing experience, but from friends I know on the inside, it's just weird.

Re: Grace, Humility, Wisdom

She goes to UMass Dartmouth, the traitor!

Re: Derby Girl

You should come to the RISD Museum!
