The "child" (Martin) was a taller, younger and healthier male than Zimmerman. Martin had been using drugs, was kicked out of school because of discipline problems, and had learned to attack weaker males by first braking the weaker male's nose, and then pounding the weaker male's head on concrete. Had Zimmerman not defended himself, we would probably have been killed.
