Put a tiny cushion on the rack, hey presto! A seat! ;) As a child my dad used to do this for me and my sister, if the both of us had to be on the bike, one would sit on the rack and one on the crossbar.

Aw, that little girl holding her mum! So cute! I want babies like that, ie, sense of balance :P.

(totally unrelated to this post, but:) Nijmegen is repaving the cyclepaths on a street I have to pass almost every day, and I love that they've closed off half of the two-way street (making it a one-way street) so that cyclists can use the road. Never had such a wide path to cycle on :D.

Same problem here in Nijmegen. It's 24 days for us. Your bike gets a label, and if that label hasn't disappeared from the bike by a certain date it's taken away. However, there are quite a few reports on overzealous bike removal. In the city centre parking is sparse but anythink parked outside the designated places is removed. Sometimes even within half an hour. Not great. Also, a lot of bike look very ragged and old and unused, but are not. Loads of students with an old bike, as I assume in Amsterdam. :)

Summer! Finally! Cycling in skirts and my really high wedges. *adore* I love the pic of the dad and his daughter on the back, somewhere in the set about the gene pool, she looks as if she's not very happy with that weirdo taking her pic. :D

Haha, kewl! Ik heb niet zoveel met Arie, ik weet alleen nog dat er hele flauwe grappen waren bij de lama's en dat hij leuk meedeed. Hij heeft iig een opvallend hoofd. DWDD heb ik niet eens gezien, ik kijk alleen nog maar laptop en geen tv :P

Oh my, I LOVE the kiss, the hold & bite and the dukes! That last one made me chuckle out loud (in a public computer room too, so got some weird looks, the sign says silence and all). The kiss makes me want to have the same route to work as the boyfriend.

I remember some snide comment made (don't remember by whom) about some minister's habit of driving to work. There was even a piece in the paper on what ministers would miss most about being in the government, and some said their car and chauffeur. That caused some "letters to the editor" in the Volkskrant! "car with chauffeur? Doesn't he have a bike?" :D
