Wordpress—like many blogging tools—can be self-hosted, but this article doesn't bother to mention the difference.

I thought so too, but apparently to the Brits that sounds akin to "America'ed" or "Asia'ed." So they say orientated.

They also say "telly" and "nappy" and a bunch of other silly things so I guess I can let this one slide too.

Hm. A bit of Googling indicates you're right on that. But somehow British spellings like "colour" don't bother me nearly as much as "orientate," which reminds me of "administrate" and "irregardless" and other such wrongness.

I just downloaded the file from Github and when I activate the new style in Notepad++ I get a dialog saying "Load stylers.xml failed!" and the list of styles is garbled up with odd characters. (The colors look nice though.)

The linked "explanation" doesn't add up. It totally disregards the fingers clearly laying across the width of 2 parallel blocks. If the sculpture were only 1 block wide, as in the green outline, then the man's fingers would be hanging out over the edge and would cast a shadow down the side.

I think there's some very tricky forced-perspective stuff going on here, not sure exactly how, but it's definitely not as simple as "they faked it with shading."

By the way, I'm not sure that Nataly's effortless and dreamy style has ever been "trendy." I think the Pomplamoose style is pretty unique.
