However, if you choose to be a Malaysian then you must adhere to the tenets of the Rukun Negara of which, Kesetiaan kepada Raja dan Negara and Kesopanan dan Kesusilaan are two of the tenets. No one is stopping you from saying your piece, regrettably in this instance; your piece is seditious to the tenets of being a Malaysian.

It is a privilege to be a Malaysian, and with any privilege, comes responsibilities including to upkeep its constitution which recognise the King and Sultans.

If you do not think it is a privilege to be a Malaysian, in this day and age, you can choose to be a citizen of any country that meets your ideologies. For example, you may choose to be a Singaporean - a country where they don’t have any kings or sultans and where they practice chinese-style NEP. The downside is you will not enjoy the same freedom of speech as you have here, but never mind; you are your own man there (allegedly).

Or, if freedom of speech is paramount to you, you may choose to be an American where your constitutional right is guaranteed with no king or sultans in sight (except for Memphis & Vegas). If you choose to live there I would, however, suggest that you modify your name to Jed Yoongwoski for reasons I trust you know of.

Take care.

ANJ
