I assume someone's "range" can be limited by another outfielder with good range overlapping one's "territory?" For instance, I'm assuming that big dent on the left side of Heyward's range is due to a center fielder catching those balls, right? So, theoretically, if you stick a guy with great range between two more statue-esque corner outfielders, the range will probably be larger than if he is between two other guys with good range, yes?

Dexter is easily going to get a 4 year offer and at least one or two teams will go 5 years. He is, by far, the most attractive centerfielder/prototype lead-off man available in free agency. The rest of the options are either old or mediocre-to-bad or both.
I don't know who plays center (my guess is there is a trade made for another Fowler type that would leave via free agency after 2016 or 2017). But I think Addison Russell moves to the lead-off slot unless they get real lucky again and find a Fowler clone out there to play center.

I want to be clear that the Giants fans I know were not condoning retaliation, but pointing out that it would happen because Bochy and old school and reasons. They assumed Black would get hit himself, but when I mentioned the odds of him facing Giants pitching any time soon were extremely long, they agreed that someone like Rizzo or Castro would get hit instead.

It really was exciting. MSNBC placed its importance somewhere between the invention of fire and the mapping of DNA, so I'm already a bit tired of the hyberbole surrounding a game that wasn't even an elimination game.

If they face each other in the medal round, that will be big. Still not Miracle on Ice big, but pretty damn big.
