Regarding my first question, I discovered it is possible to mock the facade simply by overwriting the service directly in the container.

Anyway, to completely avoid the problem, is sufficient to use dependency injection at its full potential.

I've just wrote a post to my team members to explain why we should rely on dependency injection, avoiding to use the container (via `app()`, for example).

The Laravel's docs guard against the use of facades (https://laravel.com/docs/10...`). However, the framework anyway offers them.

The problem, in my opinion, is that facades is one of Laravel's killer features.

But they are discouraged, in a soft way, by Laravel iteself.

So, it offers them but discourage their use.

Apart from the differences in patterns between Eloquent and Doctrine, if Laravel removes facades, which its purpose? It uses Symfony: without its killer feature, why should someone use Laravel over Symfony?

So, in practice, they are maintaining a feature that is counterproductive, discouraging its use, for the only purpose of maintaining a "commercial" differentiation point.

This is my read of current situation.

The more I use Laravel, the more I don't like it: it leads the developer to use anti-patterns, unless the developer already knows very well how to write very good code.

In this Symfony is more useful: it teaches the framework and, at the same time, following, among others, the SOLID principles, teaches also how to write good code.

This is Lumen, not Laravel, but I suppose the things are similar (you have immediate simplicity and accumulate technical debt):

How would you test this? Yes, if you have a test db set up, things are simpler. But in more complex situations, you have a call to a static method `query()`. I don't have an example at hand in this moment, but there are situations where all these static calls create a big mess.

The only way to overcame the problem is to use `overload` feature of Mockery (thought to be used in legacy code bases).

In Symfony you will never have this problem as you will pass the repository (this is the biggest difference between the two: Symfony follows the repository pattern, while Laravel follows the Active Record pattern).

I also use the active record pattern in Symfony, but only when writing tests, to put the database in a known state or to query it before and after test execution (thanks to `zenstruck/foundry`): it is really faster and easier (exactly as the active record pattern is), but I will never accumulate technical debt, as I will never test the code used to test.

But in production code, I have to be able to test everything and using static calls makes testing a nightmare.

I'm currently working on Laravel project and I really don't like it: its "simplicity" has a cost and you have to know very well how to code and at least the SOLID principles. The risk, otherwise, is to write spaghetti code in no time.

And I really don't like the use of helper functions like `app()` (that is, namely, the container, used all over inside classes), or `make()` and similar.

I also don't like the active record pattern used by the models and the use of static "magic" calls every time.

I also don't like the fact I have to mess the model with a lot properties to configure validation rules, serialization rules and similar. On Symfony I can use annotations (now attributes: really powerful and helpful) or I can use yaml or pure PHP.

Regarding queues, I use Symfony Messenger exactly as a queue as Laravel does: it is possible.

I also wrote a small lib that permits to call Symfony commands and execute them asynchronously via Symfony Messenger (https://github.com/Aerendir....

In the end, so far, I didn't like Laravel and now that I'm working with it, I like it even less.

Tomas (excuse me for missing accents😅), this is really the best post about the subject I ever read!

When I started with Symfony I faced exactly this problem: which is the difference between a subscriber and a listener? When should I use subscribes? When, instead, I should use listeners?

There are plenty of questions on Stackoverflow about the topic, but no clear and definitive answer.

In the end, and after months of practice, I just concluded subscribers are better than listeners, but without having an actual clear picture about them and about their differences with listeners.

But now this post clarified and put into words all the sparse thoughts I made along the way: it’s really great and really useful.

A big thank you on my side: you demonstrated once more you are one of the best in the best in the PHP community!❤️

Yes, this last one seems a good example to understand the real problem... The tradeoff is between the "more code" and the "more development attention".

Your solution avoids this problem at all, where "more attention" leads to human errors and bugs...

Really this is a very good post: it initiated me to the astonishing world of Value Objects and now they are a fundamental concept in my "development kit".

But there is a thing I don't understand about how to use embeddable objects: how the values are set in the embeddable?
Is there a __construct?

Because I'm trying to make them work, but the "get" values are ever null and I don't understand why (I have created getters and setters, but it seems not be sufficient).

If you could provide some more complete example classes maybe it will more clear how they should work. Thank you anyway for the reat post!

Purtroppo l'imprenditoria ha un unico obiettivo: guadagnare.

Purtroppo le soluzioni tecnologiche "sociali" ("sociali" in senso classico, non "social", come Facebook) sono più difficili da monetizzare.

Purtroppo chi dovrebbe investire in soluzioni "sociali" ("sociali in senso classico...) pensa o a fare le guerre (che, diavolo!, creano anche un bel mercato! - un sorriso amaro mi affiora alle labbra) o a escamotage più o meno giuridico-politici per vincere in modo più o meno onesto.

Purtroppo la nostra società è ancora tecnologicamente immatura e credo serva molto altro tempo prima di capire cosa siamo: umani-adulti.

Ora siamo solo umani-bimbi troppo cresciuti. Pur sempre umani, ma socialmente immaturi.

E tra l'altro questo non vale solo per l'argomento oggetto di questo articolo, ma per molti altri ambiti della Vita.

Purtroppo per il momento sappiamo, me compreso, dire solo "purtroppo", pensare 3 secondi al "purtroppo", o magari il tempo di un commento sotto un articolo un po' più lungo, e dimenticarcene, tornando al "via", dicendoci "Dunque, dov'ero rimasto?".

Quando la seguii a Giugno all'UNISA (il convegno su Social Network e Privacy che abbiamo organizzato con il prof. Giovanni Riccio, ricorda?) capii che lei era uno che la testa l'ha avanti rispetto a molti altri operatori del settore marketing. E lo dimostra ogni giorno con NinjaMarketing ed ora più che mai orientando il taglio sullo scenario start-up. Sta facendo un ottimo lavoro insieme ai suoi ninja.

Da parte mia credo manchi ancora una cosa: l'informazione. L'informazione nelle università, l'informazione tra le imprese, l'informazione tra gli operatori del settore (quanti avvocati conosce che sanno cosa voglia dire il termine start up? E quanti commercialisti?). Quanti corsi universitari (pubblici) conosce che spieghino cosa sia un term sheet, o cosa sia una drag along o una tag along, e chi ti spiega come l'optino pool influisce sulla capital table?
Insomma, Gli eventi ormai ci sono in giro per l'Italia. Ce n'è almeno uno ogni mese, mese e mezzo. Mancano le persone che ci vanno.

Mi chiedo come mai allo SMAU affluiscano tutte quelle persone e sono invece così poche quelle che vanno allo startup weekend o a ItaliaCamp, o Man the bridge o al Working Capital.

Lo sforzo va fatto dagli stessi startupper e dal mondo che intorno vi gravita: è necessario farle parlare certe iniziative.
Io sono di Nocera Inferiore, lei di Salerno. Credo sappia di cosa sto parlando. Ha mai provato a dire la parola startup? Come un alieno, così mi guardano quando accenno soltanto all'argomento. E il 99,9% delle volte non arrivo nemmeno a dire che ne sto fondando una insieme ad altri ragazzi (che guarda caso sono a Bologna). Eppure anche noi abbiamo le nostre potenzialità. Manca una cosa molto semplice che gli imprenditori conoscono bene: l'incontro tra domanda ed offerta e cioè tra chi il mondo delle startup lo conosce e chi da questo mondo potrebbe trarre immensi benefici e contribuire poi ad ingrassare il sistema.

Questo articolo è il primo passo, questo mio commento forse il pensiero di fare il secondo. Speriamo qualcuno arrivi a dare l'input per muovere i piedini.
Da parte mia non posso fare altro che ringraziarla ancora: sta contribuendo a risvegliare menti, e questo è l'importante.

In realtà la pubblicità sleale, giuridicamente parlando, è tra imprese (per esempio: non comprate il prodotto del nostro concorrente x ma il nostro che è il migliore) ed è diversa, per esempio, dalla pubblicità comparativa.

Nel behavioral advertising viene in rilievo solo la tutela della privacy, per altro a livello nazionale atteso che a livello europeo c'è solo una direttiva che è stata recepita in modo differente all'interno dei paesi membri (per esempio in Italia abbiamo la distinzione tra misure minime e misure idonee di sicurezza non prevista a livello comunitario).

E non è vietata a priori: basta che l'utente sia appositamente informato ma stando bene attenti: non basta una semplice privacy policy sul sito. Ma la questione si fa complessa. Questo era giusto uno spunto di riflessione.

È verissimo quello che dici. Ti porto la mia esperienza con l'e-commerce. Sento spesso persone che vorrebbero aprire un e-commerce e che si informano sul come si faccia. Così inizi a sentirti porre domande come "Ma come si paga su Internet?", "Quanto costano le spedizioni?", "E il diritto di recesso?" e cose simili. Al che ti si accende una lampadina e domandi "Scusi ma lei ha mai acquistato su Internet?". Vai a vedere e la risposta è inevitabilmente un secco "NO" e quelli più divertenti sono quelli che ti dicono che hanno paura di mettere il numero della carta di credito on-line o che non si fidano di PayPal.

Conclusione? Prima di poter vendere devi essere un compratore. Per forza! Mi trovo perfettamente d'accordo con te su questo ragionamento! Ottimo articolo :)

Sono d'accordo con te. Non è una strategia che adottano solo gli hosting provider ma anche, ad esempio, le agenzie web. Il problema è che questa è una strategia di breve periodo che richiede continui investimenti in pubblicità per ricambiare la clientela. poi ci scappa l'utente cazzimmoso come Lorenzo che ti fa fare una figura di niente davanti a tutta Internet e là ti voglio. Quanto dovrai spendere per riprenderti? Non sarebbe meglio essere onesti ed equi? In fondo questo è quello che chiede il cliente: un po' di lealtà!

Impara a stare più tranquillo e a gestire le crisi sui social network! benvenuto nel web 2.0: c'è Facebook, c'è Twitter, ci sono i commenti, c'è la viralità, e c'è Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, ci sono commenti positivi e ci sono commenti negativi. E tu devi imparare a conviverci se non vuoi che la tua azienda muoia.

Che poi ti lamenti di Wordpress. E se vedi Magento che fai? Spacchi il server? Stai più tranquillo! Un consiglio spassionato ;)

Quando si aggiunge un feed RSS gestito da Feedburner il pulsante che permette di aggiungerlo a Google pure è cambiato: hanno schiarito i colori, rendendoli molto simili nello stile a quelli della nuova interfaccia che a me personalmente piace vedendo gli screenshot che hai postato.
