Mel, this is a really great post. I have wondered the same and I am sure have had people wonder about it me. I have been open about not being able to attend conferences and trips in recent years because of my kids (and find it such a catch 22 because most brands only want the "Mom" blogger but then what do we do with the kids?) and then there ARE the times that I can make it work. And what that looks like for me for the most part is staying at home and *trying* to find the balance of working with my kids around. I am SO thankful to make a decent income off of blogging- enough so that it really is the best option for us right now. Usually it means I let go of housework and time for myself including rest and sleep which I know is already taking its toll. I imagine this is similar for work-out-of-home moms, too. Bottom line: I have to work and am so blessed this is what I can get paid doing. I don't ever want to give the impression that I have or do it all because that is so far from the truth.

I can relate. It seems I am always on a journey of simplifying but maybe that's best, to keep practicing it always. It teaches us something, and does get better. But I definitely slip up too much!

Fabulous fabulous! I have been meaning to pick up Madeleine L'Engle's books again. Thank you for the reminder! I recently read When You Reach Me with a strong influence of Wrinkle In Time (it's a young adult book but I like to read them before my kids do and I LOVED the book.)
