I've enjoyed this blog, but I agree it's hard to find a place since where you end is where you start to some extent (most of the big blogs are people tied to Linden or whores for such).

Perhaps you could invent some friends. Maybe a dog or something. Write about that. Stay the fuck away from cats however. That is mine.

Oh, MASH was total liberal crap by the time it went off.

I don't go for the Trek thing, but after someone thinking my 6th Doctor outfit was Willy Wonka, I decided to do it for a party last week.

My outfit was great but the damn holster was cartoon-like and would not let me change. Pissed me off.

I too like the non-commercial aspect of this blog. The other blogs name dropping their books and chairs piss me off.

You can take your argument to the next level with SL "models". That is one that we could spend a while on.

It's not even a matter of appearance sliders really. You can buy that look done.

I am having some challenges learning the terms used.

A quick look shows McDonald's will let me hawk Happy Meals for 4% of sales and adherence to a few basic rules like not creating a hybrid Ronald McDonald mixed with drag queen or denying the morbidly obese service.

I have yet to talk to anyone who feels stealing the work of others is moral. The problem is finding out the actual scale of the problem and putting in place a system that is commensurate to that. Locking out unverified users and ID checks to me is for a problem about six times the scale of swine flu and I am not sure we are there.

I know this is water compared to the more solid ideas, but maybe as a first step something like E Bay does. If I don't see a good history, feedback, and people saying they were pleased, I don't buy.

Second, maybe a higher tech option like product activation. No doubt they would copy that as well but there has to be a way to lock items to an owner using a certain authorization system Linden would maintain. This part is going to annoy, but I would like to see it go both ways. If you see your product in the hands of someone illegitimately, you should be able to disable it (or pop a big box over their head making it less useful) at least until it's clear it's legit.

One thing I would like to see is a way to ban someone and mean it. Maybe there should be more needed to open an account.

Lastly, if I steal a can of soup from the store, they will call the police and they will arrest me. Why is a ban the only extreme solution here?

Were looks alone the only pertinent item, perhaps, but you're really making an astoundingly bad point with all of a screen shot to back it up.

Let's agree Blue Mars looks great. I think that is a given. As this actual review (screen shots and words) http://virtualunderworld.ne... points out they took an off the shelf engine, avatar, etc to get there. All Linden needs to do is rid themselves of the shackles of the legacy environment we happen to be using (and making them money on) so they can start over. See whoever is still waiting in a year.

Graphics aside, this review is spot on where it counts. This is a not a world where you can make content and go sell it. There may be an approval (read censorship) process and almost certainly fees for this service.

Not running Windows? Well the beta is. And only Windows.

You like to window shop? Without a currency this is all you can do.

Got an 8000x series card?

Like awkward avatar movement?

The review sums it up very well in the final words.

I think it was six months or so back you had a poll on how much of the SL pie OpenSim would have. I should of taken 0.32% at the time but I'm just now getting your thing for going to the track and betting money on three legged horses.
