It shows a lot of character. But having said that, I think the best reaction to being pulled into a fight is to fight back, fight hard, and make sure everyone sees you do it. Even if Gabe loses -- which is clearly impossible, unless there was indeed a clause in the contract that stated "do not let the cops in the house" -- Gary will hopefully, though doubtfully, be less likely to pull this shit again, but most importanlty, Gary will walk away with a clear "don't fuck with me" record.
