I am specifically searching for a teacher's experience with Whispercast. I am a new 4th grade teacher next year in a Title I school looking to use Amazon tablets and Whispercast. I have questions. Is there anyway we can email each other?

Re: Bothell is a 'special' city to be involved with/ Letter - Bothell Reporter

Please visit my website to read more about my ideas and positions for the City of Bothell, including enhanced Parks and Recreation, strong Public Safety Services, Fiscal Responsibility and ... I find it tragic that elections can be decided by less than 50% of registered voters. Maybe by making information accessible, people who might otherwise decide not to vote, could decide to vote this time around. It's certainly worth my time to see.

I agree with you that VoteBothell.com can appear biased. Over two weeks ago, I posted the following: "VoteBothell.com is dedicated to getting more people involved by making access to local government easier and more convenient. I will continue to capture pieces of the Bothell City Council for VoteBothell on YouTube and could use some help (for those interested in watching a four hour meeting every week), as I think that a team-decision for what to capture would be more representative than what I alone think." (See: http://www.pnwlocalnews.com... In addition, I provide Google search boxes for people to search for themselves, and I am posting the candidate's information as it becomes available. But I have not heard from anyone else who would like to get involved. As for the health care vote, I agree with you, the vote was a selffish grab. I would be happy to post the video of deliberations. I've been looking, but have not found the exact date of the meeting as the city's archives offered online do not go back that far. Again, I could use some help.

The bottom line for me are the issues. You say that Councilmember Spivey's votes line up with Mayor Lamb's votes 95% of the time, and it seems that you don't like Councilmember Spivey's priorities and subsequently Mayor Lamb's. But what priorities are you talking about? What are the issues? Can we encourage the candidates to talk about the issues that make up the 95% rather than pointing to statistics? One issue, obviously near and dear to me, was how the council addressed the flooding issues on E. Riverside Dr. During deliberations, Councilmember Ewing suggested condemning our house as a solution which would have compounded the tragedy for our family whereas Councilmember Spivey offered a solution to prevent future flooding.

The nature of my letter to the editor (http://www.pnwlocalnews.com... was for candidates to steer away from the negative campaign tag lines - "voting like sheep" and "yes-man voting" mirrored in national politics and ask the candidates to talk about their positions on the issues that they will bring to the small town we call home. I encourage everyone to check out VoteBothell.com when they are ready to vote. It’s a one-stop shop for people to access most all the information “out there” regarding candidates including the voters pamphlet, web pages, and YouTube videos. I have also recently included candidates for the Northshore School Board.
VoteBothell.com is dedicated to getting more people involved by making access to local government easier and more convenient. Whether you like him or not he isn't afraid to voice his opinion and vote no matter the opposition - I've never seen him back down. He was out for about 20 minutes on the June 21 meeting - perhaps to attend to an emergency - the vote he missed did not seem to be contentious and was unanimous.
VoteBothell.com has it all on YouTube for people to "witness" for themselves.

Re: It’s safe to say, Safeway isn’t ready to build - Bothell Reporter

I can’t resist a poll … in the short-run the answer is no – the plastic burms and empty space scream a stagnant economy and reaffirm our fears that it’s “still going on.” We would be more comfortable complaining about the construction (the noise, trucks, etc.). So in the long-run – yes; the plastic represents the beginning of what’s sure to be a nice shopping area – just on hold.

Re: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Bothell Reporter

Wow, you know a lot about the financial-side of education. I’ve been in education for twelve years now, both as a teacher and now a high school counselor, and I had no idea about “bond rating” and the apparent risks of spending reserves. Stuff like that is just not talked about “in the trenches.” On one hand, it makes sense for people to suggest in this economy that instead of major cuts to school programs, why not spend some of the rainy-day fund. At what point is a rainy day a rainy day? But your argument makes sense. I only wish more people would post such valuable perspectives.
