Thank you for the informative article.

I have a query:

I have a self-occupied house for which I have taken a loan & pay 3.5 lacs interest yearly.

I have another property which I have given on rent and I earn 1.5 lacs rent from the same.

Is there a way I can claim the entire loss of 3.5 lacs that I pay for interest on self-occupied house or is it just 2lacs that I can claim and 1.5 lacs (rent received) will be treated as income which would essentially mean a deduction of only 50,000 (2 lacs interest - 1.5 lacs rental income).

Good writeup Mahendra. I had very similar experiences with other brands. Although e-com and other businesses are gaining ground everyday in our country, customer service is probably the last item they have on their list which makes the experience very frustrating.
And I am sure we have millions of other customers facing the same issues day in and day out.
I am surprised as to when brands so much worry about negative publicity over social media why don't they think a bad customer experience will make the customer rant about it in public and will spread with the word of mouth? But then there are always some logical questions that we can never get answer to in our country...

The lowest voting percentage is not a good sign.
If we start to count then there could be several reasons for not wanting to vote but we have to rather find reasons to vote. If we are not voting then we have no right to crib about the condition of our city or our country.
I do not believe that there has been no change in pune or in our country, there has been progress for sure in some areas there is less progress and in some area more and some areas are completely ignored.
But then the areas where we have progressed in because of the votes that people have given to earlier governments.
Most of us are not interested in knowing more about the candidates or don't want to put efforts in improving the situation, we just want the situtation to improve on its own, which is not correct.
We have to get involved, we have to vote, we have to hope that our vote will bring the changes that is required.
Not voting is anyways not going to help us in anyway, why not try voting and hoping for the change to come rather then spending the election day as holiday in mahabaleshwar.

Any one who has been following Rahman since beginning still wud remember Roja - his first hindi venture.
Still in my ears Roja music plays loud and clear after so many years. That is melody.
The difference in his music can be viewed from his recent ventures on one hand where the world was praising him for Slumdog Millionaire on the other hand he came out with Delhi-6 a complete album and I daresay I liked Delhi-6 album much more than Slumdog Millionaire in terms of completeness.
Rahman is a real gem of music industry. Jai Ho!!

The Contact Us and Correct Us links are broken for quite sometime.
Any user trying to give any sort of feedback is unable to do so.
Also the new layout is fine but it doesn't work with IE6. I mostly use IE6 and the still IE6 is being used by millions.
Would be good if you can keep the layout compatible with atleast the most used browsers.

This is so very true.
Indian way of politeness is really different and even within India every other city will have its own politeness parameters.
'Tere', 'tu' the usual hindi informal words to address others are considered to be normal in one city but the same would amount to disrepect in another city.

But I believe that those 2 magic words should be a part of every dictionary in India too.
And the good thing is that when I walk in to one of my friend's house and hands over a gift to their child they are teaching their child to say 'thank you' and while requesting for something 'please'.

But this is more prevelant in those homes where english is being used or children are getting educated in convent schools or people are coming back from U.S., U.K. etc and settling back home.

In India when we teach our kids to respect elders, touch their feet, seek blessings etc. then I think using these 2 magic words can also form part of that education.

It never hurts to say 'Please' or 'thank you'.

This is one of the ways that Information Technology has changed India.
People changing their profession is not that prevelant in India as much as it is in other countries.
But the best thing that can happen with a career change is that you bring the experience of your previous profession and use it to your advantage in the new one.
Being an IT professional Vinamra Pandiya and Ashwani Rathore knew the pains of the IT professionals in the city and they hit the right note with 'ghar ka khana'.
And as they were well educated and qualified they are trying to put their experience in the new business and promoting it by opening a website and then realising the importance of ISO certification.
And I am sure this is just the beginning.
I hope more IT professionals in the near future change their stream and enrich other professions with the knowledge they gained with Information Technology.

It's too much to say that wearing a mangalsutra would make feel "I’m his possession".
The notion of wife being a possession has been going down and mainly in cities like Pune.
I agree that it has more to do with complying with the tradition.
As the ring is considered to be more of a tradition in US and UK, the mangalsutra has the same meaning in India.
And most of all its not mandatory to wear it always, may be once in a while in traditional pujas and things like that.
And the trend of girls keeping their maiden name is becoming quite popular now a days in India too and I have not met any guy till now who has objected to his wife keeping her maiden name.
We know Malika Arora still as Malika Arora Khan.

I have eaten at the Teri Dhaba and the food is really amazing. It has got the delhi touch to the chole, paneer and paratha and dairy products are also good.
The only downside is the limited seating space provided the number of customers that come everyday.
But all in all a really good place for some good food.
