Is updating your blog once a week sufficient, even if the post isn't? Is commenting on EVERY thing going on in your industry the right strategy?

With that said, thanks for checking my blog out. Hopefully you will continue to read my posts...

Re: Is school worth it? Is your school worth it?

Perception differs from reality. While I have no doubt school, both Undergrad and Graduate, played a large part in sculpting who I am, it's much easier for me to give examples from Graduate school. That is not to say that I learned any less at Ohio State.

I believe that people learn a great deal about themselves outside of the classroom which for some, may end up as important as what is taught inside.

By the way, great presentation. I couldn't open it in your blog but went to Slide Share and checked it out. I think Path 101 can certainly offer Colleges and Universities assistance with developing a better case to attract students. What is the next step after researching the resumes?

Re: Kaplan University Says Time to Adapt and Embrace Technology

Jacob - I completely agree with this post and continue to wonder why businesses as well as Colleges/Universities aren't more proactive in terms of adopting new technology. This is the direction business is heading toward and I hope that what Kaplan is doing will start a ripple effect across the country.

Re: It's not that I dislike Jason Kidd...

A young and less experienced candidate must have more of something that the older and more experienced candidate has...and that is ambition - read: hunger. I completely agree with you.

Re: A Night at the Theater

I agree. During my internship in 2007, my 'official' mentoring relationship fell way short of expectations. My unofficial one - with Reg - has turned into a much closer relationship. Although, my 'official' mentor has become a huge help as well. But yeah, growth can happen a lot quicker with a strong mentor.

Re: Getting to know me.

Thanks for the comment Zoe! An explanation for #53 is really quite simple; I am a BIG Ohio State fan, so during the fall they play on Saturdays. I like Thursdays during the rest of the seasons because it brings me closer to the weekend, while still allowing for me to be very productive. Does that make sense at all? Haha.

Re: What if the Internet Became a Social Network?

Interesting topic and thought. I personally don't see the value in the Internet becoming a macro-social network, although isn't OpenID attempting something similar? At the end of the day, you will always have to sign-in or log-in to something whether automatically or not. With that said, it's an interesting question to pose and I look forward to the other responses.

Re: Aiming for 30 Under 30

Great post Charlie.

Re: I live for this: The challenge of entrepreneurship

Good Luck Charlie!

Re: Marketing Brief Vol. 5 - Trex

Pat,

Thanks so much for your comment. I think its a great site for people that use it.

Re: Marketing Brief Vol. 5 - Trex

Thanks for the comment Kobrin. I believe that the sustainability and lack of upkeep would make them better, but I hear what your saying. In my experience of school playgrounds, everything looks the same. I would think that Trex has more of an ability to customize its play grounds because of how easy it is to customize its decks and other products. Similar to my other ideas, much more research would need to be done to see its true viability.

Re: Wanted: Ways to Inspire Innovation in an Old Media Company

Interesting topic. First, I would decide what the innovation strategy is for said company. That should give a basic direction for the team to move forward with. I would then focus on existing resources and develop ways for them to innovate. It could mean moving people around, changing business processes or not doing a thing. Considering the state of the print business and the importance of innovation, I would then look to grow the team, bringing in a few smart candidates that offer different skill sets.

I believe that innovation is best worked on with a dynamic, engaged team. I would focus on building an environment that allows for creativity, individuality, and an enjoyment to come in and get work done.

Re: I don't know what this is, but I made it.

Monkey See?
