I was looking forward to You're Next but was disappointed by it. I can't remember Safe Haven but I have heard there's going to be an ABC of Horror 2. Maybe in Greek.

I was introduced to the world of American
comics by a neighbour at the age of 9. Prior to that I had been reading British
comics; the ‘funnies’ such as Topper, Beano and The Dandy. I didn’t know the
Saturday morning cartoon shows were based on comic books.

My neighbour was a Marvel fan. I became a
Marvel fan. It was Spider-Man. Then in the 80s it was Frank Miller’s daredevil.
I stopped reading comics in the 90s. But I still read Frank Miller.

I never read Superman.

Full disclosure. Superman guest appears in
The Dark Knight Returns. No spoilers but – Supes shiv; give no.

I haven’t watched any of the Superman films
in a 35 year canon. I have caught the odd snippet on TV much like I’ve caught a
glimmer of Star wars but I plead the refuge of the irresponsible: it wasn’t my
fault.

Zack Snyder directed Watchmen of which I
approve. I approve of Christopher Nolan. I approve of Kevin Costner, Russell
Crowe and Diane Lane. None of which will induce me to watch Man of Steel.

I’ve been following the career of a young man
called Nisar Masoom. Perhaps it’s not my place to feel like a father watching a
son grow and mature. Nevertheless I am in witness of a writer. Congratulations
son. Your parents must be proud.

You’ve persuaded me to watch this flick.

Very good post. I've never been a fan of the franchise even though the first film was somewhat bearable. I didn't finish watching the last one - as soon as I saw a bunch of gringos in a Rio favela I knew ridiculous had become the theme; Drive Fast Die Hard.

I'm agog at the Marvel success. Believe me - in the 80s it was DC with Superman and Batman. I never thought Marvel would/could do it. Then the technology caught up. Oh and the marketing. This is what Hollywood does best.

I couldn't be less interested.

Unfortunately I've only heard bad things about Tyler Perry's Temptation. It's a shame because the lead actress - Jurnee Smollett - is a talent that supersedes Hollywood. Watch her in 'Eve's Bayou'. She should have won an Oscar. I take your point about Perry's name being a beacon for (white) criticism. It used to be Spike Lee.

Maybe the next one will be me.

I bypassed the whole series when it was at its peak. Die Hard is a throwback to 80s cold war Reaganesqe run-and-gun the bad guys 'cos we're the good guys. If I want an action entertainer I'll watch The Bourne Identity. Suffice it to say action-thrillers are passe. The only reason this one got greenlit is the brand. I couldn't be less interested.

Be careful with the words you use good doctor. I myself am pro censorship. It is inspiration for the artist. Whereas individual societies will induce self-censorship - no burping at the dinner table - state censorship is a must to protect society from the aberrant.

Otherwise there would be a pedophile channel on cable. You believe me it would be profitable.

In other news I've never been a fan of the anthology. That's what TV is for. A feature should be exactly that: something you can't see on the telly. There are exceptions of course; Trick r Treat comes to mind but in the case of ABC's of Death - 26 shorts? Talk about a gimmick.

So Ti West failed again. With VHS on his resume that equates to a slump. He's well in sync with the genre.
