The inconsistency in response times would make it a nightmare to develop an app like this. I can't find a comparable chart for tablets (just the raw numbers), but this should give you an idea of why an iOS device is the only viable option when milliseconds matter.

Re: The truth youre not being told about the Toledo water crisis in Ohio: Chemical agriculture poisoned the water

If you only found one, you need to learn how to use Google. As an exclusively Mac guy, this might seem odd. But for years, I've had excellent experience after excellent experience. And it hasn't been dependent upon one platform or another. I've reached out to them on Twitter and received prompt, courteous service. The same applies to email, phone calls, and in-person interactions.

I've called in and have been treated respectfully every time. Not only that, but their employees have been friendly, personable, and downright funny at times. I wound up on a 40 minute call to resolve my son's hacked XBOX Live account. My problem was resolved within 20 minutes. The rest of that time was spent exchanging stories about identity theft and online security. The call was only terminated when she politely asked if it would be OK for her to move onto the next call in her queue.

I attended a launch event for an Office product a few years ago. In the days following the event, I received a phone call from a Microsoft team member. He made zero attempts to sell me anything. We just chatted about the strengths and weaknesses of the updated platform. It was a conversation. Yes, a conversation! He wasn't waiting for his turn to talk or trying to blow smoke up my rear. It was such a refreshing change of pace.

I've also dealt with Microsoft adCenter (now BingAds) in the past. Their support team was incredible. When there was a gray area on how a competitor was phrasing ad copy on keywords that included our client's trademarked name, they were gracious enough to stay on a conference call with our attorney for an hour to reach an optimal solution.

For the record, I've never received a penny from Microsoft. They're not a client nor do I personally know anyone employed by them. And we all make jokes around the office about what a nightmare Internet Explorer can be. But at the end of the day, their culture and their people have been such a pleasure to work with that I'll always root for them. Even if I never own another Windows machine again.

Re: Xbox One – A Disappointing First Introduction for a Gamer

So, Hipster McNeckbeard wasn't impressed by the reveal? Shocking. I think I've read this same post written by about 25 different people. Same crap regurgitated over and over again.

Maybe the Xbox One won't live up to our expectations. Maybe it will EXCEED them. We don't know yet. All I know is that as a lifetime gamer, the reveal got me excited to see more at E3. As a NON-gamer, my wife was impressed by the entertainment aspects of the system.

You don't have to give away the farm at an event like this. The point is to get people interested and continue to build that interest until launch. The problem is that everyone has grown so accustomed to the way Apple press conferences are run ("...and it will be on sale later today.") that we expect to be given every detail of a system as though it's the company's only chance to tell us about it before we decide if we're gonna pony up the money.

Spoiler alert: there are months, MONTHS left until this thing launches. Instead of declaring this thing a "disappointing first introduction for a gamer" like the pretentious comic-con nerd that everyone wants to punch in the face, perhaps you should hone your writing skills.

Oh wait! This is my favorite line: "The dip in value of Microsoft's shares - as well as an increase for Sony's - is evidence of this." Son, you have literally NO idea what the F you're talking about. The Sony spike came on the heels of Daniel Loeb proposing that Sony be split (http://www.forbes.com/sites.... The Microsoft "dip" was a .66% drop. In comparison, Sony dropped 2.7% from it's value the day after the PS4 announcement. So, umm... nice research, genius.

Re: What Disney is really buying

"There are plenty of unanswered questions, many of which are sure to light up chat rooms on the Internet."

Chat rooms on the Internet? Am I the only one who doesn't see this baseline, bare minimum response to be a "saves the day" moment? Of COURSE they saw the misspelling. What big brand DOESN'T monitor commonly misspelled variants of their name in social mentions? Have we really gotten to the point where an act of utter rudeness can be dismissed in 140 characters or less? By failing to reach out to you to get more details, they've empowered that flight attendant to continue to rudely dismiss their customers. If it was "time to be awesome," Delta just failed miserably. In this era of "every kid gets a trophy," I think we need to be holding big brands like Delta to a higher standard. I'm glad you walked away from the experience with a smile on your face, but I can I assure you that I wouldn't have.

Re: Unreliable Narrators! The problem with conspiracy theorists is that once you buy into the BS, you start believing everything is a conspiracy. So let's say that he actually did commit the crime(s).
